Rattles in front end????
Hi, I've got an '84 solid axle Hilux which has started rattling in the front end. It seems to come from around the hub area and only rattles when the hubs are locked in. It does not rattle when the wheels are on left or right lock and when I swerve going in a straight line the rattles start to go ...

Thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate it. After I posted I went back out and ripped off the free wheeling hub. I think I had put it back on in such a way that it wasn't engaging properly. I sat down and had a real good look at how it all works and now know, so I guess it wasn't wasted time ...

Pls Help with Diff Swap Hilux
Hi, I've never done any work on the front of my 1984 LN65 Hilux, so I'm venturing into unknown waters here and I'm looking for some help. I've just replaced my diff front and rear diff centres (3rd's). The rear was a breeze, but the front is causing me some problems. I've got everything back ...

Putting Discs on the rear of a Lux
I've searched for this, but if anyone can point me at a thread/s or give me the info I'll be grateful. I have an '84 Lux and want to put discs on the rear. I've read I could use Nissan Rotors and Suby calipers, Lux rotors and calipers and Falcon rotors but am lacking a few details. If anyone can ...

Trans Case Handbrake?
I really dislike having an in-effective handbrake, so I am looking for an alternative to the stock handbrake on my '84 LN65 Hilux. I know I can get a transfer case brake from <supplier not named> but I can't afford that. Anyone know how I could fab up a home made version of a transfer case brake OR ...

Still getting nowhere. The motor has 4 posts on it, a main 0v post (black) a centre red post (red) a black post (black/black) and a black and yellow post (black/yellow) to connect cables to. Of these, the main earth post (black) and the red post (red) appear to be shorted, they measure 0.1 ohms when ...

Thanks for the reply smitty, yep it does have a control box. I just got all the wiring info from Ironman (really impressed with their service) so I can wire it up correctly. But I didn't get the hand control/switch/gun thing. Is there a way I can test it once I have wired it up, without the hand ...

Winch Testing?
I got a second hand Ironman winch and I want to test it prior to fitting it to a front bar. I don't have any wiring diagrams and haven't used a winch before. How can I test it on the floor of the shed? It has 3 connections on the top of it, red, black and yellow and a seperate thin black wire as ...

Lux wont start?
I took my Hilux (1984 diesel) out through some mud and water the other weekend and ever since, she doesn't always start first pop. Never had any trouble before the trip. Now sometimes I turn the key and all I hear is a 'click clack'. I turn the key several more times and she starts up, but I may ...

Tcase Ratios - Help
Howdy, I have to swap my transfer case out. The original, the one being swapped, is off a G52 box behind a 2.4 liter diesel LN65 Hilux (1984). The new tcase is off a G52 box behind a 2.8 liter diesel (1991). I'm wondering if the ratios in the 2 transfer cases are the same? All help greatly ...
