if you have a manual RWD gearbox to suit, from an AE71 or something, that may be worth something........

if you dont extend the bolts/whatever, you have taken 1 inch of engagement off the threads, to me that sounds scary...

AArrrggghhhhh... i had just decided to go for the 5.14's...lol made this to help. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q117/wolf_rt/gearchart.jpg I dont really like the idea that there will be no low range gear as high as low 2nd is stock.... When i took the rig out the other day i spend quite a bit ...

Re: 92 Sierra W/T Suspension questions

Hmmm had no idea about the warrenty thing... i was going for the 5.14 for a better low range spread. the 6.5's just seemed a bit too low. the 6.5's will put low 5th where low 2nd used to be compared to the 5.14's which will put low 4th where low 2nd used to be. I want to be able to carry a little ...

Think I'll go for the 5.14's picked up some 30/9.5/15's at the swap meet, so ill be using those till i can afford some Silverstone MT-117's in 31/10/15's. still have no idea how people are moving there diffs foward... my finger 'just' fits between the draglink and tie rod... my front leaves sit ...

Re: Tyre Topic - BFG Mud Terrain

Had a set of BFG's on my old Patrol some years ago... ripped the side wall out of 2 of them the first time i went out, wasnt happy. the side wall was far too thin for a serious offroad tire in my opinion, they rode well and balanced well for the street though. (got dodgy repairs done)

Thanks dave, most of these questions CAME from what i had read after doing searches...lol, i realise its pertty basic... learning as i search, but you have to know what to search for. :P seems like the 6.5's would put rpm at 5500 in 5th at 100kph on 31's? that sound right to you? it is my only car ...

cheers for that... does the SPOA make the steering box location a non issue? looking at it in the driveway, there is only about 10mm between the steering box arm and the drag link, but most people who do RUF dont mention mooving the steering box? in QLD so im pretty sure SPOA is out... found some 4 ...

92 Sierra W/T Suspension questions

Hi all, just picked up a 92 Sierra wide track soft top.. bog stock, and slightly thrashed. the springs are all pretty stuffed, so I'll be looking at doing some suspension mods at the same time as giving it a fix up. This car will be a daily driver, but i'm not overly worried about the on road ...

I Hadn't come across 3tgteu's before, would probably be good, but id rather a low km, engine if i can manage it for the right price. there was a 18RGEU on ebay for $600 which would be nearly as good. Something newer with a modern computer would be best for the sequential gas injection i plan on ...

Cheers thrashlux. I think this may be the best solution. I'm not after a wicked powerhouse (or am I  ) more a reliable and cheap to run Gas only work truck. A turbo isn't out of the question though but i'd probably go a low pressure setup. A 1/2JZ would be a really tight fit, probably have ...

I was looking at a 3sge out of a Lexus ls200, as its rear wheel drive, with 5spd auto. there also about $5000 so probably won't be happening. A FWD 3sge is a different thing though, if it will bolt up to a 3/4y bell housing then it would be sweet as. what clutch/flywheel mods/parts were required ...

I like the 3.6 holden idea and i'll look into it further, 22R is out due to fuel consumption. 1 or 2JZ or any straight 6 would be too long for the engine bay and i don't want to cut the firewall (having had previous experiance) 3RZ looks too expensive and carby 2RZ also dearish, and not much better ...

What about the holden 3.6L alloytec engine and auto. These sell resonably cheap as there is not a real big demand. Make 170kw stock, nice and light, none of them are real old. and being a 2wd don't need adapter kits, just hve to mod mounts and driveshafts to suit the motor and commodore auto. This ...

Engine conversion for early hilux (2wd)

i have a 1970 hilux RWD that i've been doing up. I'ts got a 12R 1600cc that has pretty bad compression figures and will probably have to go, and 4spd column shift. I like the column shift and would like to keep it, or possibly go auto. So im looking for a new engine. May be a 2RZ out of a hiace? But ...

for the price of a 53mm socket, you can swap the nuts for the GU setup, which is a lot better, has 1 nut and a locking plate which screws to the nut.. wont undo on LH side ect. you have to take the sleve that the hub goes over out of the disk, to fit them on a gq. i replaced mine after fitment, have ...

if you wanted to swap the whole dash, you would probably have to cut it in the center take the 40mm or whatever out, trim the back and sides to make it sit as far back as possible, then have it re covered...$$$ you would still be jinning around for ages trying to get the instruments, heater ...
