Peter, I reckon the 245/75R16 are a bit a dud size if you ask me, especially for a 60 series. the 265/75R16 should fit no drama's plus it's a generic size, so it'sa lot cheaper in all brands and pattens. not being a 60's owner, i'm not sure if a 16x8 will fit on the beast however it may be an option ...

tip i've heard of for setting a bead. haven't tried it but it seems safer than the lighter fluid trick. get a bicycle inner tube the right size for your rim (i.e.16in, dunno if you can get 15in tubes), inflate it and use it to seal the gap between the tyre and the rim. pull it out just as the tyre ...

I can't answer that question for you. Very good results can be achieved with a vitara, but the path of building a reliable capable car is harder. Sierras are cheaper, lighter and simpler, but will never match the comfort or stability of a vitara. A sierra can be built to run a bigger tyre easier ...

Don't go for a Vitara then. Vitaras have their strengths, including the ability to build lots of wheeltravel for an IFS design, but they aren't more durable than a rodeo. Preparation and maintenance are very important for cars driving mud. Generally, cars tend to run trouble free for a while and ...

As per Grimbo's comments. DO NOT RUSH OUT AND BUY A CAR Have you had a 4WD before? If not, (infact, in any case) definitely come to a couple of club meetings, maybe arrange to passenger on a club trip - get a feel for what we are doing with our cars and how we build them before you buy a car. The ...

Rodeo's Prado's(newer ones) Subaru's all do it, outside edge, front tyre. it's not the alignment as such. it's due to cornering. Take note next time you see a soccer bus (prado) hurling round a roundabout. the left hand front tyre just gets swallowed underneath, because the vehicle over steers. Take ...

A tin of flyspray/deoderant/ aeroguard. when bead of tyre pops off and can't re seat it (pussies!) spray inside tyre and light it. BOOM! tyre "should" pop onto rim. or you have no eyebrows. Alternatively you can buy a rubber ring that they use in tyre shops for about $60 that will seal between wheel ...
