That's strange mick, I've never seen that happen before. The rim protector is outside the tyre's bead, so unless you were getting lots of dirt or sticks caught between the rim and the bead I don't see how it could happen. Anyway, I'm not here to argue with you, everyone to their own opinion. As for ...

It goes between the 2 filler / oil level bungs. When the seal between them is shot, the oil pumps from the transfer to the gearbox. As the gearbox fills up the oil runs out of the gearbox level hole back to the transfer case. A little bit of oil will run back to the transfer when you go up a really ...

For this sort of stuff I can recommend Redlands 4WD Centre, 30 Steel Street Capalaba 4157 3823 3990 http://www.redlands4wd.com.au/.

Talk to Peter Kitchin, if there is a problem he can find it. Peter looks after touring 4WDs as well as Competition Rigs. He himself competes in off road events.

I just put some on the back of my 100 series. I went to clark rubber and got some 6mm x 300 mm wide insertion rubber of the roll by the metre. 300 is the widest they have. It's about $42.00 a metre but it works well, the mudflaps that I put on the 60 series are still fine after 10 years.

Where to buy relay sockets on-line?

I have some major re-wiring to do. I want to control some of my wiring by relay ( the small square Bosch ones). I have occasionally seen mounting sockets for these relays that can be bolted to the firewall, quards etc. This would mean that to replace a relay I just have to unplug it and replace it. ...

Anyway - Original MTs. Took a set to the Cape on a re-built 1975 FJ40 with a fibreglass body. I agree wi...

It'll only be me and Julie-Anne this weekend to marshall. Rhiannon has to work and Ryan has had a better offer involving an XBox, so we'll be up there childless (woo-hoo!)

The switch in in the upper tailgate. it is part of the catch / central locking mechanism. Just open up the inspatcion plates in the upper tailgate and look for the wires, they are the only ones up there.

I have had extractors on both a 2F and 3F and they are different. As indicated above, they look similar, but the bolt pattern is slightly different and the base of the extractors will probably sit well below the chassis line. I have never had a problem getting extractors for my 3F, and as my 60 is 2...

As far as I know the chassis dimensions for a 105 series are the same as an 80 series. Just remenber that the 105 is a larger, heavier vehicle so the lift may be a bit harsh on an 80. Most lift kits are suited to a particular vehicle, I know that mine was designed specifically for the load that I ca...

Look at the TJM ProLocker. It's a licence-built McNamara locker. I have them in my 105 series and they are nearly unbreakable! They have an actuator inside the diff that is seperate to the actual diff mechanicals, so it won't leak oil like an Airlocker and is easy to replace if it ever plays up.

I'll add my 2 cents. When I did my 60's front hubs up I also replaced all the seals. If you replaced the main rear hub seals (the ones that you hammer into the back of the hub itself) they run on the base of the spindle. When they are new they are a very tight fit and can give you more than the reco...
