Just dug this thread up, funny enough about a week after i posted it the first time the leak went away.. i never got around to fixing it. anyways its back now as of a few days ago. what a pain in the arse! all the old info is still relivent so ill strip the top of the pump down and replace the seals ...

torx 40 screw on the box housing level with the 5th gear selector shaft.. under this is a spring and indent ball, replace both, they are cheap..
also check the rubbers under the gear sticks, if u have done body lift ect then they may be putting extra pressure on the stick.

replacement windings are available, not a simple fit though. would prob look at a second hand starter. if replacement even closly resembles the reversal of removal then i cant see it being too hard. the ign wire requires soldering once in location, and the 2 push through clips need the taps ...

Happened to me about 2 years ago, remove starter, pop open the solenoid and pull out the contacts, go see an auto elec and for an easy change of $20 should see you with some nice new clean contacts (if you fit them yourself of course). bout a million differnt types of lux towbars, i had no worries with my arb bar till i put ifs rears in. the longer springs made the shackle lay back more and hit on the bar... out i went with the grinder and welder, worked my way around it!. then ended up ditching the bar anyways!

So hard to tell where the leak comes from, no worries having a crack at fixing it if i could find it! seems to be coming from the underside of the pump, hard against the side of the engine! think ill just wait it out and get the pump pulled for a service in a few weeks time.. as for the over heating ...

my turbo timer is earthed through the handbrake... basicly this means if the timer is set on say 2 mins, then u turn the key off but do not pull the handbrake on the engine will stop... same goes if you take the handbrake off while the car is in the turbo timer countdown.. kills it straight away ...
