Re: Arb bars only taking warn winches

All ARB bars are designed around the Warn and Bushranger range of winches. In having said that the V6 diesel is somewhat different to the rest, but from memory a Mean Mother winch fits these bars.

I ended up making my own, they just bolt around the chassis. These are for a LWB but this design could also be adapted. http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs226.snc1/7331_148203124519_500854519_2455737_5430554_n.jpg http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs206.snc1/7331_148203139519 ...

Petes Paj- Sounds like you have an Escape model, yours may or may not be the same but my NL Escape read about 5% over (i.e. 100km/h indicated was actually 95km/h) with the stock tyres. Now since upgrading to the 31's the speedo is reading about 1% under (100km/h indicated and 101km/h actual). Hope ...

Yeah to be honest I'm not expecting much, just thought a quick flush might do something. Will be putting in some good oil afterwards, was thinking either Fuchs or Penrite.

Well ended up putting the oil in it, if I don't notice a difference I'll try the engine flush. Am not expecting much after 190K's on it.

Thanks

Cheers Steve,

By cleanse I meant more of a flush. Do you think you will be able to notice a difference after running the diesel oil through it?

Diesel Oil in a Petrol

Hey Guys, Has anyone ever used diesel oil in a V6 petrol to give the engine a bit of a cleansing? A mate recommended to run some diesel oil for a 1000km's or so to give the engine a bit of a flush which should hopefully quieten the lifters down too. I know diesel engine oil has a high detergent ...

Slighlty off topic here, but has anyone tried the Maxxis Trepadores in a 31'? The only reason I ask is becuase I was originally planning on getting the Bighorns but can get a set of Treps for only a few dollars more.
How do they Trepadores go for wear?

Bit late I know, but I just put some 15x7's (off a Navara) and there is about 2mm clearance between the rim and the caliper. Not sure if my escape has the upgraded brakes or not (it's a '99) but there is not much clearance at all.

McGyver- They are exactly the same, was more wondering bout the ideal focus pattern off them, because as you screw them out you get a 'dark centre' so was wondering whether the best way of focussing is to have one a little wider/open and the other pointing inside the 'dark centre'... P.S. Sorry ...

I've got the 180 Roo Lites, they're not too bad a light actually and I paid $230 for them in Canberra. The only 'problem' i have is that i'm undecided on the best way to focus the beam, it's pretty close to being wound most of the way in (spot beam) but still has a really wide range. How has eveyone ...

Had a crack at it this arvo, but could not for the life of me get the front diff or gearbox drain/fill plugs off and that's after spraying them with a very liberal dosing of WD40. Is there any advantage of a 16x8 over a 15x7? Reason i ask is because i can't seem to find any 16x8's second hand and new they're around $125 compared to $65 for the 15's plus i've got a spare 15 that i can use saving me from getting 5 new ones...

Cheers,

The ST's and MTZ's were on the list too although i thought they'd be a bit exxy...how much are the ST's roughly worth?

Is there a difference between the Pajero and Patrol rims i.e. offset? If so is it detrimental at all?

Hey Lads, Sorry about all the questions tonight. Recently been thinking about new suspension and tyres, thought getting tyres would be the better option as there's no point having greater flex/comfort if you can't get the traction. But this is where i have a slight dilemma. The type of driving i do ...

NL Service Hints & Tips

Hey lads, I have a '99 NL Escape which is coming up for its 170,000km service. It's currently got about 168K on it and (unfortunately) i'm driving around 700km's a week so hopefully i'll be doing this next week. I only got it at 162K. Now my question is: should i do all the oils now i.e. motor ...
