Re: d40 advice
The later you can get the better. I have an 08 and my clutch is still ok. Once again I was aware of the issues they had and drove it accordingly. I small lift is fine and will actually make them handle and feel better than stock imo. I don't really agree with the thai models being better either as ...

Re: d40 advice
Depends on what you want to do with it. If you are after a 4wd for anything more than very mild offroad I wouldn't bother. If you want a comfortable, powerful road car that can take you up the beach and mild offroad tracks they are good. Heaps available suspension wise. Heaps of engine mods ...

prob not without re designing the rear suspension. It is just how nissans are, a lot of anti squat. Longer lowers (ie superior long arm kit) will help a lot.

Re: 4.2 Injector pump for Big HP
Few part's ordered as a result: Forged Steel Crank: Knife edged, lightened (roughly 40% lighter than std) Man I can imagine a tru knife edge crank in one of these especially if your asking it to rev that high with 60psi up its ass would be asking for trouble? Might end up looking like a pretzel ...

Re: Polyairs and effect on full flex????
Personally I have seen a lot more GU's with this problem. In fact I don't recall seeing any GQ's with it but after all the beer and years I may have memory fade lol GU's are probably more commonly overloaded these days as work trucks etc than GQ's so this may have something to do with it. Either way ...

Im sorry about the inconsistant line on dyno graph my pizo is a bit over the
place causing the change in constant line , but it gives you a good enough
idea.

Re: Polyairs and effect on full flex????
Very very good point about bracing the coil mounts. It is not a matter of if they will bend and eventually break but when. Heavy gu's with airbag helpers seem to be the main culprit too. I am sorry I do not know the price of the sleeves. I think they are only relatively new I only seen one set ...

Re: Polyairs and effect on full flex????
From experience (with the coil helper type bags inside the coil) they will not have any major effect on flex if set up correctly, especially with a lot of weight on board. It is not a lot different to running light coils in a light car and heavy coils in a heavy car. Generally the heavy car will out ...

Re: SRC shocks adjustment
This is what makes suspension so hard to get right as far as manufacturing goes, because everyone seems to like different things. Nobody could really tell you how to set the shocks for your vehicle as you are the one driving it everyday and know what you are comfortable with. Generally with the src ...

Re: Panhard Bush Life
When you say flogged out what do you mean. Is the car head shaking or is it just from a visual inspection. Biggest thing that will kill em is oil or diesel ie leaking from above from either steering box or pump etc. Other than that maybe check that the axle is located in the correct spot (panhard ...

Re: Solutions for camping power? which battery/charging meth
What drivesafe has said is exactly right and catches a lot of people out. I have found for most 4wding camping in the weekend to week range a 100ah agm or thereabouts is best. Too much amp hrs and you think 'wow this is great I can run all my gear for ages without recharging.' Then when time comes ...

Re: 1VD fuel pump and turbo
These motors will boost cut pretty early too and turbos run out of efficiency too. You put fuel in last. Get it to breath (ie much better intercooler and exhaust) The factory cooler is shit really Northside 4x4 have unichip capabilities with these that work well with boost cut defender unit also ...

I think it is mainly panhard related, but just check you have the arm in the right way. I have seen nissan rear trailing arms installed with the bush orientation wrong and it obviously loads up the bush heaps.

Re: Power upgrades to 4.8
I no longer have it but I used to own a 4.8 manual. I put an exhaust with extractors on it, filter upgrade and a unichip and while it was good it was not really exciting considering the costs involved. I think it ended up with about 140kw at the wheels on 305/75/16 mud tyres. The 4.8 is a massive ...

Re: Power upgrades to 4.8
After being down a similar road I would suggest you stop now and keep saving for a turbo. You will easily spend 2500 grand+ minimum for basic mods like exhaust and chip and filter etc then add heaps more for cams etc. You will get bored with it real quick and still not have the power you want. Turbo ...
