Hold out hope mate, not every snapped belt will result in bent valves and the like,every one is so happy to paint the grimest picture.
Mine spat the idler pulley and i shat a house brick, but all it ended up costing was the timing belt kit, belts bearings etc.

ok im pretty sure ill got the 43% gears, seem to be the best setup for the wheeling that i do. now just gotta save up the $$. cheers for all the help guys. tom. Rock Hopper do a 83% reduction for the 2.8, avail thru BBM.
They were on sale a while ago for $995.
I have the 83's with 35's and some times ( depending on what you are doing) you will find that even those arn't low enough

i fitted one to my Patrol, so did a mate, yes they are worth the dollars, but from memory you should be able to get one for around the k mark, i had issues with mine when i first fitted it and Steinbauer air-bagged a new one up over night.........ended up not even being the chip.Cant fault their ...

My money is on the glow plug, try glowing it a couple of times.....this should reduce the amount of time it misses for, if so then 99% sure it will be the plugs

Got my gears about a month ago from bbm, i did end up getting the 85% $995 on sale, i would say the 43%'s would be the same price.

Not sure about the seals being the same.....i would think they are ,because the box is the same and the reduction gear sets are the same (shaft diameter etc). I had a Gq T/Case as a spare when i put rock hoppers in my Gu and the only difference i could find with both boxes was the 4wd selector shaft ...

Rip the car in to Motsons @ moorooka. they will supply and fit the mod plate for around the $60 mark. I had mine done and then managed to pick up a pump with 66,000km on it so the modded one has become a back up.
