Has anyone done it using the stock 40 series Diffs ? I see a few out there but all seem to have the 80 series setup.
Do people use the 80 series diffs just for ease ? as all the links etc are already there ?
How much wider are the 80 series diffs than the 45 series ones ?

nope.
The reason must SR have a lowered front spring hanger is to get the correct caster and pinion angle back as if you do not have a drop hanger then the diff gets rolled due to the spring perch angle.
So if you don't want to have a drop hanger then you can cut and turn your diff housing.

I find it funny that a persons experience is judged by some to be based on the number of posts they have made on an internet forum, I guess the PAD MONSTERS do have it right, maybe I should get BJ ON ROIDS to lend me some of his posts, then I would have heaps ... And i find it funny that no one ...

now I understand you have a 1HZ motor and need a gearbox to fit it. I have in my possession a H150F gearbox in UNKNOWN condition, which, as far as I know, was once bolted to a 1HZ motor. it turns at both ends without excessive slop, makes no bad noises when turned by hand, there is no evidence of ...

Ok .. firstly I didn't start this post and didn't comment on it until Andrew sent me an email saying "I have asked the audience about what they think about the situation... they all sided with me...therefore my hands are tied," and a link to this thread so I had a look and added my comments. No its a 13BT not a 3B ... My BJ42 has a 13BT.
Wasn't it only the BJ74 that came factory with the 13BT ?

As a rule Tube is in imperial and talked about in terms of OD. Pipe is metric and talked about in terms of ID. So 2" tube will have a 2" OD where as 40mm NB Pipe will have an ID of 40mm and usually has OD of 48.3mm (if med wall) A few of the newer benders are sold with metric only dies as they are ...

Ya right .. the backpressure don't help in a turbo engine .. but unless you are running boost from 800 rpm you need a little bit of back pressure for that low range of rpm ... Just in my case the 3" afect the very low rpm range under 1200 ( that means virtual no boost ) when you are crawling .. And ...
