fitting new oil pan to 2f help

Hey, is there a special technique that i need to use to get this oil pan back on? because i cant get the filter down under the fin and there for can not get it up on to the block

any help would be tops

I think the caster angles are have different effects on different cars... i have a 40 series and if the tyre pressures are low.... i can barely keep the old girl in the one lane when im accel hard then when i come off the gas i shoot strait over to the otherside of the lane, quite a nitemare really ...

The extended shackles will help, they will give you 1 inch of lift and they will also increase the amount that it can flex up.

shackles sit no where near 45 as they are standard 40 springs. Height is increased only slightly but its still noticeable. And the flex is still limited because i keep breaking the truck and have to rep[air other stuff instead of getting new shocks. but i want to go spring over soon... so they can ...

Well i have found why i can not run it in the position as i run on gas chassis rail to chassis rail in the rear so the muffler needs to sit under the passenger seat god damn it. Oh well mayb e i will get a tube rear for it and bring it up out the top like Daz... now how to learn to weld and a pipe ...

ddTHanks, all good things to try... my wheel alignment is out anyways so i will get that checked out anyways, and the alignment pins are pretty easy to check so i may also check that. Now the reason for the extended shackles was that it was a cheap lift, i will take them out when i give it a spring ...

yeh thats exactly trhe same as me, heavy accel and backing off engine braking.

shackles are both front and rear, and i will have a look around at those caster things

I am running 2" entended shackles from snake racing i have poly bushes in the rear and rubber up front. rubber bushes are probably not in the best state now, and the leafs i have opened all the little bracket things to allow the springs to twist a little giving a bit more flex. hey just wondering if there are any cheap places in australia that i can order a prop shaft for my 40 onlinje? its a 2f with a 5 speed and a late model xfercase.

I have pulled the step off today and pulled the sill back out as much as i could by hand, there is ba brake line and a feul return line on mine which are both in the way, maybe i will just leave the sill pulled out as much as i can... and get some sliders made up of round tubing (like the jeep ones ...

Hey, Both the sills on my FJ40 have been bashed to the crapper by stupid rocks as most of the time i think my 4bie is about 10 times higher then it really is... Has anyone had these sills cut out and replaced by checker plate? did you do it youself? or did a shop do it for you? and what was the cost ...

you should try the simex muds... very cheap and far better then the BFG's i rekon... i aint even put a cut or anything in the sidewall unlike the bfg's a new tyre everytime i went out bush.

hey people, any help would be good thanks. my gearbox keeps taking the oil from my xfer case i believe... apparently it is a problem that alot of 40's have? its a 5speed yoto box... there is apparently a pipe that you can buy that will level out the oil in both the gear box and the transfer case ...

nah... did not test it wet tho i supose i should.. how much oil should i put in the cylinder when i check it? i only had a MAJOR service done not that long ago... and i said to do everything it needed... they done the tappets and stuff should they have checked the rocker clearences then too? i would ...
