Re: CCDA external roll cage rules

Buggies shouldn't be at ttc. The tracks are not difficult enough.
The cage material rule is all good, if this material is as good as everyone bangs on about my new build will be indestructible.
The ttc/ Aust4 chassis rail thing is a questionable statement, I can't see why a chassis rail should ...

Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS rules are up

Ben, they want Full face helmets which would mean Dave would need to buy one & he isn't interested in buying a helmet for just one comp.
I have MX helmets, goggles, etc. but the helmets I have may not fit but we will see when he gets back.
But both Dave & I agree that it isn't necessary ...

3. Both driver and navigator are required to wear a AS1698 approved helmet at all times whilst on a stage. A full face helmet is required with visor, goggles or safety glasses unless the vehicle has a windscreen fitted.

What's the reason for full face, in the speed / faster event I understand with ...

I have a stally of some kind and it' makes the auto soo much drivable on the big climbs. I recon I can stall up to 2000-2400 on big ledges and still the wheels can just turn but with lots of torque..

Dover-
would this mean more stages as well ??

Just a reminder to all of our new competitors that your vehicle needs to be scrutineered prior to competing. Re: Zook on patrol chassis

definatly a great idea but realistically no so great..

it will be a far better advantage to a complete GQ as its lots smaller.

but from a zook comp truck point of view its too long to make good use the narrow body, it will have the diffs outside the body work.... FRONT AND REAR..

what comps do ...

Re: Fuel rail back pressure

To me the TBI is the problem. I just assumed it was MPI. I think tbi is single or double injector which means you could jam 100 psi up it's bum and still not help.

Out of curiosity, with the return line in a cup (after reg) how much fuel is returned??

back pressure can be as much as the fuel pump can handle. what your probably finding is your fuel pump cant keep up at 60psi.. its not the right wat to fix the problem by just uping psi but you can upgrade to a better pump to help out

use your tie rod and a marker and measure it yourself....
put a mark at full lock and turn to opposite lock and put a mark, than measure. your set up may be different to others. bad thing with hydro is if the ram is longer than it needs it will bend stuff till it get to full stroke (if your still ...

DT's on zook diffs are great up to say 31-33 on rock but they won't be liking it

Out of interest 11_evl, are you running 8mm or 10mm front hub bolts on your hilux diff? We're wiping out 8mm hub bolts when we're bound up with DT's and 35"+tyres, but the CV's have been fine. I'd say thar

have people actually measured the differences in diff clearance?

my old landcruser which has the same sized diffs front and rear has
exactly the same amount of diff clearance as my sierra.
the sierra has 31s and the lardy car has 33s, so on the same tyres that would be a

what happens when we break our floaters? Hmm. We'll see. as it stands, DT's are stronger than sierra hub bolts, and our floater rears are considerably stronger in the axle than DT fronts.
