Re: 1hz Diesel fuel cutoff solinoid problems

Just a test, remove the fuel cut solenoid and take out the needle and replace.
It wont stop by the key anymore so how you manage to stop the motor is entirely up to you. :) If it starts every time, you have the problem somewhat isolated.

Re: 76 series auto conversion

Don't forget that the front tailshaft for the auto box/transfer is on the left hand side instead of the right hand side. Which means it will never line up with front diff. No idea if the 76 transfer will even fit to the auto box.

Re: How hard? 80 series petrol motor to diesel motor?

Mechanicals is the easy. Everything mostly bolts str8 in. Maybe different rad. Electrics are the hard part. Dash cluster, subtank switching is all different. Fuel pickups are different. I think most elec under bonnet are different. Maybe even the main loom under dash but not sure. Not sure about ...

Re: 80 series air con troubles

Easy job.
Undo bolt at front, best to lock in clutch with belt still on.
Remove very front part, don't drop or loose small washer that spaces out clutch from pully. This is a set thickness.
Look in and remove funny shaped circlip. Pully part should slip off from housing, leaving only electromagnet ...

Re: 1hdfte throttle issue

The only things on dash cluster that go to computer is speed sensor out, Taco drive in and Bulb for check engine light.
Maybe the computer doesn't like the led for the check engine light. The bulb is at 12V both sides till the computer grounds the wire thus illuminating the bulb.
The speed sensor ...

I could be completely off the mark with this suggestion, But have you tried to block off the EGR?
I have blocked off mine and have noticed an improvement with this.
While i was doing that, I had inlet track and manifold off to clean out all the crap from the EGR.

Re: Broken speedo 80 series

I had an intermittent one. In my case, it was some brown crap on the speed indicator circuit board from an unknown source.
Sounds like you will need to replace the circuit board. If you are lucky, it may be a dry joint or a discrete component that is causing the problem.

I am talking about 79 fte and 100 fte. Info is hard to find but is out there. Ask a good diesel shop and they will tell you that the injectors between 79 and 100 fte's are different and not interchangeable.

I have read that the 100 fte has lighter pistons, Higher pressure pump, different injectors and an intercooler as well as different computer.
The 100 has as part of it's major service at 150K, to change the injector pipes as well as rebuild the injectors.

My 80 started the shift problem. 4 changes later of vmx-m and still no improvement.
The redline is supposed to be even better for the shift problem.
Mine now has a h150f from a turbo 79 series.

Oh and also turbo motor from 79 series

Re: 80 series hardnto change gears

It is a common problem. Some swear by castrol VMX-M to improve the changes. Others say redline MT90 is the best stuff to use. If the redline doesn't improve things, you will need to rebuild the gearbox.

The box will bolt straight on and do believe the spline for the clutch is the same. The gear selector should be in the same spot. The range leaver however is different on the 80 compaired to the 70 series. Some 80 series h150 have the posts required for the range leaver to suit 70 series but no ...
