24mm socket and rattle gun made short work of it :D

Looked like OEM bearing and punch/stake marks, not bad for 360,000kms......I wonder if the replacement will last that long...

4.88 to 4.3 diff ratio change- does my VSS need calibration?

Gday guys, Just changed from 4.88s to 4.3s in my Commodore V6/88 Hilux Given that its manual trans with cable speedo, does the VSS (Marks transfer case mounted unit) really need calibration for the new diff gears? I mean, seeing as how the VSS is not controlling any auto trans functions, all it ...

Thanks for the feedback so far guys.

Seems diffs will be the way to go- pity its going to compromise the off road crawlability.

I was kinda hoping someone did a 5 speed conversion with a better o/d ratio, or an alternate 5th gearset for the existing trans.

3.8 V6 'Lux- Lowering highway RPM

Hi all, I have an 90 dual cab- ex 22R, now with VR V6 and the G143? axle code. One thing that %#@*% me about this conversion is the unnecessary and excessive highway cruising RPM (3300 approx). Other than fitting the T 700 4 speed auto for its better o/drive ratio, what other options exist??. What ...
