yes the 2.8 and 4.2 are different engine mount positions one RHS. if putting a 4.2 into a 2.8 chassis the rhs mount has to be moved backwards but not totally sure how much. in the middle of doing this swap currently. we also have a rolling 4.2 cab and chassis 4 sale. rusted rear 1/4s and 1/4 windows ...

honestly just look for a 4.2. there are too many dramas with the 3lt. i know of a few things that go wrong with them, but 4.2 is the strong reliable one

i've never seen a new hilux have clutch or fuel problems but i found out a problem with the navaras is that the gear/diff ratios are to high specially when towing.

im jus running max land cruiser offset. forget wat it is thou. easier to run 16 inch rims on gu.

the problem is the clutch itself. i have replaced clutch in d40 at 112000km. it was its 3rd clutch. not sure who did the other 2 but i put a solid flywheel conversion kit in and has not had any problems. they also leak rear axle seals. cant buy bearings only complete axle from nissan. NOT CHEAP

i did the gq efi conversion and its simply the best thing i done. no stuffing round with dizzy's. straight swap. only hard thing is putting the efi wiring harness in. more fuel economical, lots more torqu, more power. cant complain.
