Re: Feroza - Hole in bell housing! Also, squeaky power steer
There shouldn't be oil in the bellhousing, I'd say you have a leaking rear main seal which will require removing the gearbox and flywheel to replace.

Yes, remove the existing pinion mounting bracket from the crossmember and fit the one that is on the new diff, I have read that the crossmember holes are in the same place so it should bolt straight up.

Re: Modding a 91 Vitara 2 door.
All of them will fit, but none of them will bolt straight in. You will need to fit your center (the part the ring gear bolts to) and ring and pinion. That is unless you find one that has already been done, but it will likely come with a price to match.

Re: Modding a 91 Vitara 2 door.
Not just XL7's, I think all manual V6 GV's have them from memory so just get one of them. The pinion mounts changed in the later models so if it's different to yours make sure you get the bracket that goes from the mount to the crossmember as the bolt holes are in the same place so it will still work.

Re: Modding a 91 Vitara 2 door.
Yeah I would just go for the standard steel diff, as the big advantage is replacing the aluminium carrier with the steel one, depends what you have to pay to get one I guess. And please get rid of that paint tin someone has welded to your exhaust, it looks terrible.

Re: 31's on a vitara
That model is usually referred to as a Grand Vitara. From what I have read 225/75/16 will fit standard with no rubbing, 245/75/16 will fit with a lift but do rub slightly. There are very few aftermarket rims that will fit due to lack of brake caliper clearance.

Re: 31's on a vitara
Have to run 16" rims on a V6 as they have bigger brakes. 31's will require a bit of work to fit. Just to be clear are we talking about the older square shape or the jellybean one?

Re: Sierra SPOA conversion legal in QLD Anyone?
You don't need to do a spring over to run 33's. Fit 2" lifted rear springs all round with a chassis extension on the front and 2" extended bumpstops or bodylift and cut+weld the guards till they fit.

Hi guys, I'm after some ideas for longer shocks for my SWB leaf-sprung Rocky. The current ones have about 1" of downtravel at ride height so something about 4" longer would be good.

Re: Toyota brake system with subaru caliper Q. Rears staying
Are you sure the master cylinder is to suit disc rear? The ones to suit drum rear have a residual pressure valve to prevent the shoes from returning too far, if this is not removed when converted to disc rear it will cause the calipers to stick on.

Re: Hi Guys - Suzuki Sierra Help Please
That is an SJ40 model Sierra which should have a 970cc F10A engine and four-speed gearbox. There are type 1, 2 and 3 SJ40's I think the type 3 ones have a plastic dashboard. Depends what sort of budget you have, but I would be looking at a 2" bodylift with a set of 31" tyres. When you put bigger ...

Bigger carb=more fuel and air in, only way to get better fuel economy would be to put the stock carb back on.

Surely for 10K you would be better off doing a motor conversion eg 12HT as suggested, rather than a rebuild + turbo?
