Thanks for the replies all. peeko22, I just tested it. Didn't notice a change in pressure. The engine was a little warm when I started it, would this have an effect? If I had cracked a head, would I hear a repetitive noise when the engine is running? Because the engine sounds perfect to me, starts ...

I think I won't bother.

My DIY snorkel taking in air already has a loud hum to it when I rev... forces me to crank AC/DC even louder :D

Guess i'll have to save up for a turbo and do it then :twisted:

G’day all Ok, so I’ve heard that cutting back the exhaust pipe and bypassing the muffler reduces back-pressure and makes a 'nice sounding roar'. I have a single cab 2.8l diesel lux. No turbo.
