Re: HJ75 2H motor Oil Filter Housing

They use a "screw on" type filter. Just google search a 4x4 wrecker around Canberra and give them a call. http://www.truelocal.com.au/business/glenns-4x4-wrecking/queanbeyan-east" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can try them, but I have read on other threads on this forum that ...

Re: Timing Chain Rattle on 12HT or Other Problem?

Well, it's certainly not a timing chain, because 12HT''s don't have one. They have a gear driven cam shaft.

Are you sure it's not just the normal diesel rattle? They do tend to rattle a fair bit when first started in cold conditions.

Re: 12ht sump gasket sealant

I would suggest simply going with Toyota's "Black packing" sealant. It was made for the job. Did they ever have any issues with sumps leaking from factory? I'm guessing no. Yeah, it's more expensive than most sealants, but atleast you know it's up to the job, and you won't be going back to re-seal ...

Re: 12ht oil pickup

No worries mate. Always happy to help. The area your talking about under the injection pump is the engine block side of the oil cooler housing. You will need atleast two holes to be open so that coolant can flow in and over the oil cooler and then out, thereby cooling the oil. Normally there are 5 ...

Forget about the "O" ring. It does'nt belong in there. I'm almost certain that belongs on you oil cooler. Forget the gasket you have in the picture too, as it's the turbo oil inlet/outlet pipe gasket. There ARE meant to be gaskets in there though. Not sure why you did'nt get any but you could just ...

Re: 12ht Boost?

You can buy a manual boost controller off ebay for about $20. Easy to install too.

I don't see much of a problem with 12 PSI boost. Although, if you start playing with boost and fuel, a pyrometer is a must.

only difference bov should make is turbo won't slow down so quick as it doesn't have boost trying to go back through the wrong way This effect is most pronounced on a petrol engine. When the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal, the throttle plate being suddenly closed creates a spike in boost ...

I asked this question a little while ago. The 75 diff is not a straight roll under affair. You'll need to cut off the spring saddles off and reposition them to suit the 40 series spring position. Not too hard if your a good welder or know someone who can weld.

Why would you want one? Just for the sound? They are not necessary on your 12HT. No throttle plate, so no surge. It's simply not needed.

I can't see why you would need the LSD oil in with air lockers. LSD oil is formulated to work with the clutch or friction type action of the LSD. Air lockers don't work the same way. They're either locked or working like an open diff. If it were me, I'd be going with a 75W140 gear oil.

I'm trying to remove the output shaft bearing from an H55F gearbox. I have managed to remove the counter shaft bearings and the input shaft but this one currently has me beaten. I opted to have mine pre turbo, as all the information I have found, says that pre turbo is more accurate. HZJ75 rear axle under HJ47

Wondering if anybody here DEFINITELY KNOWS wheather an HZJ75 rear axle assembly will bolt straight up under an HJ47. I'm not too concerned about the change in handbrake assembly, as I need to move the handbrake for the H55F thats going in anyway.

Any info is much appreciated.

It's pretty easy actually. You need to pull the gear back (use a vice to do this) so that the collar can be tapped back off the snap ring. Once you do that, you just have to remove the snap ring and the collar and gear will come off. use a couple of small screw drivers, or a scriber. Be careful ...
