25 Litres of diesel to travel 40k's....
Sealed up and loctited screws.. So far so good.
But will steer clear of a 3L pump due to different internals..

My current pump is leaking like a sieve. And it is a lot cheaper to replace the pump with a known good pump from a 3L than to get mine overhauled.Less than 1/3 the price....

Have you tried to drain the fuel filter/water separator or change the fuel filter.
If you have a blocked fuel filter it start, run for a bit and then die as the turbulence of the flow of fuel will stir up all the muck in the filter and block it.

Another 2L diesel just bit the dust. Number 3 conrod through the block just below the starter BUGGER!
Give me some suggestions for engine transfer/swap/rebuild with newer block.
I have a 253 that is a thought at the moment.
Any ideas please... Budget is low too thanks to owning a house....

rust
It is easy enough to cut out a section and replace it with some 1.6mm or 2mm sheet. I have done the floor in my lux. Had some nice size holes in it. Cut out floor around rust, and used it as a template to cut out new steel. Mig'd it in place, painted and jobs done. If you need it bent, use a vice ...

tar
To remove the tar sound deadener, get some dry ice from BOC gases or an industrial supply place and throw it on your floor and let it evaporate for a while. This will make the tar go hard and brittle then just hit it with a scraper or screwy and it should peel off relatively cleanly. Make ...

diff
Been in it about 18 months with the locker. So about 35-40000k's. Was a front diff out of a 4runner. So as for previous k's, unknown. Driving flat sealed road in 4th at around 60 clicks. Sounded like a rock hit the tail shaft. Checked it when I got home, about 5 k's from the where it clunked, and ...

Avtur and diesel
Have run a mix for years with no problems at all. 50/50 was what I used to run. Get a white spirits drum and take it away. Just don't get caught. Could be deemed as theft as most of the fuel and oil is recycled. But give it a go. Works a treat.. Slight power gain as well.

does a 2.25" or 2.5" exhaust make any difference to the sound/ power to a 2.4 diesel with extractors?? Mine has a slightly more noticable note to it but the power is up a gear on hills.. Mine follows basically the factory route. From the extractors under the tailshaft to the left hand side of the truck, rearwards under the tub where the muffler is and over the diff. Exits just in front and inside of the left hand rear shackle. As for cutting it short you may have legal issues and ...

The other non environmentally friendly way to protect the inside of you chassis is to tape or block all the holes bar the highest one on each side and fill the rails up with old engine oil.
