Re: TD42 on biodiesel
We noticed it had less go. He found a way to bring it back in line with diesel by adding curtain things, think one might have been methanal. Or if it was run at 50/50 with diesel the difference wasn't noticeable. Might do like you said and get onto an injector pump rebuilder. See what an expert ...

Re: TD42 on biodiesel
To save a bit of money. My old man used to make it and give it to me for nothing. He has his own little self built processing plant in our machinery shed. We used to run everything diesel we had on it: Truck, bobcat, Nissan 720, Mercedes 300D, Landrover Discovery, RA Rodeo, Mercedes Sprinters and my ...

TD42 on biodiesel
Anyone on here run their TD42 on biodiesel?
Not just waste vegetable oil poured into your tank, proper filtered and coveted biodiesel.
Had any problems?
Used a different fuel filter?
Pump issues?

Re: Why did nissan stop making the 4.2td.
Have to agree that a 3.0L diesel is to small for a Patrol. Tell my old man that about his '04 Rodeo 3.0L TDI auto all the time, biggest slug. I'd give him a run for his money in my TD42 NA with 35s on, or would have if it didn't just blow up with 105,000kms on it! You can wack an "off the shelf ...

Re: 6.5 chev onto tb48 auto?
The chev 6.5 diesel has 130kw & 420nm. (non turbo)
TB48 has 180kw & 400nm.
TD42T has 114kw & 330nm.
A GU TD42T with a turbo upgrade might be more cost effective, unless hes set on an auto. Could get an auto from a GQ TD42. Might be hard to find one.

Re: DSR HIGHMOUNT KITS? Problems????
I was thinking of buying one of these kits. Might not now though. It says on the website it's supposed to make 17psi by 2200rpm. "Compressor Trim: 48 Inducer 53mm, exducer 76.5mm Exhaust side: T3 size flange. 0.58AR turbine housing. Turbine wheel Exducer 48mm, Inducer 64.5mm." - http://www ...

I heard of a guy that had a worked supercharged TD42 SWB, apparently it did wheel stands easy and he ended up bending the chassis from the torque it had.. FUnniest shit I ever read. Well its not that hard to get a SWB to wheel stand, my last one did it and next to nothing was done to the engine. So ...

I got them out of a wrecked GU my Dad brought. Couldn't notice it was bent even when they were out. I reckon its only out of wack by 5mm. Tried heating it with the oxy and bending it back with a block and tackle but couldn't get it hot enough to make it move. The control brackets were bent up but we ...

Bent diff, can I bent it back? Pics
My diff has bent on one end between the weld and where the swivel housing goes on, can I simply just heat it up and bend it back some how? The CV rubs the wall of the housing.
Is it cast iron or cast steel?
If it was cast iron it wouldn't it just brake?
Cheers.
