Is there a reason why they crack around the head and the block and is it common??
Is it because of cooling issues??

Hey all im looking at a 94 vitara to buy.

Its got a 1.6 efi engine, which has been rebuilt and its done 223,000 and its a 5 speed manual.
Its also 4 door with all eletrics

Im just wondering if theres anything to look out for(as in rust,gearbox,diffs,ifs,etc) because its done fair few k's now.

It could be the switch or the wires going to it.
On my rangie both wires had come off put them back on and it worked.

My old mans bestmate has a 6.5 chev turbo in a troope he had a few teething problems (gearboxs blowing up etc) he hasnt had any real problems with the motor and pulls a 25ft trophy around.

My 84 rangie wont rev. When you try and rev it, it missfires. Ive rebuilt the dizzy everythin workin there put new diaphragms in the carbies and new spark plugs its on gas and petrol and does it on both. Gas is much worse.

I want to know what would be the cause before i spend more money ...

Ive had mine for 2 and half years its got 31s havent broken any axels yet and i drive mine pretty hard

My racing seats which are monza autotechnica are around about $350 each and the harnesses were $100-$110 i think.

Ive seen the seats advertised, they might of gone down in price as i have seen them bout the $300 mark.

Put harnesses in ive got them in my rangie

Ive already looked at that option but to much messin around ive got a few ideas myself how to do it but want other opinions and ideas plus if i was gonna change it to efi i would turbo it instead.

So any other input????????????

Im want to supercharge my rr 3.5l v8 (carby) . I just want 6 pound of boost.

I was thinkin of a sc14 supercharger.

I can fab a bracket for it but what do you reckon about the supercharger and will it be big enough to put six pound through.

In my RR three doors do not open properly (Drivers and the 2 back ones).

They do open but you have to muck around to open them(On the back ones lift up the locks and open the door handle, Drivers u have to push in the door and open the door handle).

Which mechanisms do you have to replace ...

I had the same problem i found it was the headgaskets one had corroded through. And to replace head gaskets on these is real easy. Replace them first before doin anythin else cost ya bout 200-300 if you do it urself better than pullin the whole engine forward.

Thank fellas for the advice the only reason i did ask is cos i could get a motor and gearbox (done bout 130,000km and not thrashed either) for 3 grand.

Might do it a bit later on when i got a bit more $$$$ laying around. In the mean time im just goin to put a new cam in to get a bit more power ...

A quick question how hard is it to put a LS1 with a 6 speed manual gearbox into a classic rangie? I heard from someone that u can put the motor in but wat about the gearbox?

Its from a Holden VT Clubsport and i can get it quite cheap and how much would it cost to put in and wat needs to be ...

Ive had my rangie for a year and a half its 84 i had a few dramas when i bought it. The probs were head gaskets and other little things and im in the middle of changing my gearbox should be finished todai hopefully lol.

The ride of a rangie is much better than a toyota or nissan aswell.

The only reason im takin it out is cos the gearbox shat itself and it has done 380000 kms its getin worn and not shifting very smoothly anymore and cruches sometimes

Also how do you take out the crossmember just below the Gearbox??

Has anyone got a spare LT77 Gear box for sale

Ive got all the gear just all i need is the gas mixer the place i got gas from they did a bodge job on making the mixers instead of getin the proper ones. There a bunch of idiots that did it.

Its just i live in perth WA thats all.
