If interested, I have a 'LOKKA' part number LR13 brand new in box from 4wd systems which I am not using. $550 and I could post it anywhere in Australia. Bought it for a 1987 BJ73, will fit most cruisers (NON LSD)

yeah, i contacted them over in the states and all they need is an axle length and they can make them to suit

anyway, still deciding
*better cv's?
*change driving style?
*rear lokka?
*all of the above

Hey all, Yes, I have a BJ73 non turbo 3B with 34 11.5 x 15inch simex and front 'Lokka'. Out of 3 trips I have broken the RH CV twice. On both occasions it struggled on a rocky hill climb and after 2-3 attempts it went bang. What am I doing wrong? I know its a weak point on Toyota's but maybe its a ...

75 series steering knuckle question

can anyone help me with this question????
On the back of the knuckle spindle there is a brass bush.
Mine is flogged. Broke a CV and demolished an axle on the last trip.
How is this bush removed?
Is it an easy replacement job?
Anyone had experience with damage to this bush?

Upgrading alternator BJ73

Hello all,

Im having trouble finding an alternator with more than 60A capacity for my BJ73. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Being a diesel, It needs to have the vacuum pump on the rear.

Gday mate,

Castrol VMX 80 is the go in Toyota gearboxes.
I changed my BJ73's gear oils and found it was definately smoother shifting when cold.

Here is a handy diff ratio calculator for those interested... The diff ratio you need = The size of tyres you want multiplied by your current diff ratio divided by your stock tyre size . Example if you want 35's, you have 4.11's and stockys are 31's..... 35 x 4.11 / 31 = 4.64 Then you can round down ...

sounds a bit much to me...
for $850 i would expect a full swivel hub kit, wheel bearings, all leaking seals replaced and a wheel alignment. plus $100-$150 in change.

Im after some help with some handbrake issues after a 2" body lift.
The cable catches on the diff bracket when the handbrake is on. How have you guys overcome this? new bracket? cut bracket off? different handbrake?
