yes you need the washers, i forgot to put them back when i did my head and a bolt bottomed out in the thread and snapped.

i know that the vn-vs commodore box takes the same filter as the tb42e box. so shouldnt be too hard to fit one up

its not hydraulic lifters, the tb42e has solids, check the tappet adjustment should be .38mm when hot.

i have run penrite hpr 30 in mine since i got it 2 years ago and am very happy with it

yes all holden v8s from vn to vt serive 1 are turbo pattern, the ls1 wasnt until vt series2
