Joeblow did one a few years ago a 1UZ into Feroza, pretty sure there is some photos in forum somewhere. Fair bit of work to do it though....

Re: Test driving this 2day what should I look out for
Check play in the following: (Whilst steering stabiliser off) Tie Rod ends, draglink, panhard play (any mov't in bushes and bolt holes) and check ball joints. If worn these could cause issues later down the track with shimmies or death wobbles. Check steering for any clunking as may have dud box or ...

Re: Ball Joints
Chugga,
I just remembered I did end up unbolting calipers, so that I dropped out the ball joints I wouldn't stretch the break lines, that way I toed it up out of the way, pretty quick to get them off and makes job a little easier.

Not really any common swap done, as very few owners have swapped engines. Of the ones completed include Mightymouse with turbo VW petrol engine mated to Feroza auto bellhousing with vitara auto internals. Sr20 I have also seen done with sr20 gearbox and divorced transfer. There is no easy swap over ...

They would just have to be cleaned/sandblasted before coating. Cerakote is definetly the best quality ceramic that I have come across.

Yep they ceramic coat the combustion surface of the piston and what is called a dry film lubricant for skirts, it will not affect tolerance from memory thickness of lubricant is around 0.01mm or something similar.

Re: Diff backlash
You will need a dial gauge and torque wrench, not sure if you need any other specialty tools, best off to send it to a diff and gearbox place as it is a pretty precise. Will prob set you back round $300.
I do most things on my car but I leave that one to my mate a toyota mechanic.

Not if its diff backlash, the whole centre will have to come out and be adjusted, also check uni joints they can sometimes make similar noises.

Re: Feroza Qs please help
The comp is one run in WA basically build up a car for 2 grand and comp it (cage is not included in this 2 grand). Easiest option would be to use a sierra (Team Carnage is using this as base) at least then you might be able to get a decent crawl ratio and ease of aftermarket gear. As Mightymouse ...

Re: Leaf Springs
Depends on how many leaves are in your pack and how thick they are (You will also loose some lift taking leaves out.
I currently run a 4 leaf pack (1 custom extended main, 2 helpers and 1 load). This gives me a great ride with the addition of some boss adjustables.
Pictures may help.

Commodore rear will fit, not exactly sure on which models, I know they fit a Vitara rear end and are long enough for the coils, should be plenty for a Rocky.

32's are no where near ideal on a Feroza, I run them on mine and thats with 2 inch body lift and 2 inch suspension lift and also cut out front guards to clear. 32's are not fun on a stock Feroza as the crawl ratio sucks big time meaning you often have to launch yourself at obstacles (often breaking ...

Re: Powdercoat vs 2Pack
Powdercoat should not flake of if this is the case then something is wrong with the adhesion to the base metal. This can commonly occur if the powdercoat is under cured. Usually this should not occur in the case of powdercoat it should be more durable over 2 pack. The advantage of 2 pack is that if ...
