Ok totally out of left field and probably more work than anticipated but what about an outboard motor with a CVT style transmission ? Two stroke could be an advantage IE no sump or oil levels to worry about..........

At a guess I'd say the earlier style, could you pull the locking hub and check ?

My 4.2 TD took 2 filters and pretty much a full 10 litres for an oil change.

Check all the usual suspects first, uni joints, slip joint, suspension bushes. Also check your wheels for a missing weight that could be throwing it out of balance at speed.

Mate its the same as a car ie drain oil, replace filter or filters, make sure sump plug has been nipped up and then fill with oil....

I would just treat the rust yourself. It may not be the prettiest job but it will work, and lets be honest $4800 to fix the rust you have, is money you will never see again. Other places that weren't treated will rust too. Save your money, spend a few hundred on cutting out the rust where possible ...

Is it a wagon ? Rusting out along the roof gutters ? Is the possibility of a chop viable ? Ie twin cab wellback style ? With the right pump a 30-71 will work well.

I have a standard HT18 on my GQ. 3" exhaust and a built GQ pump making a dyno'd 139 rwhp. The pump was built by swaffie and he informs me it will do 170rwhp with the right turbo. 3071.
