Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS RESULTS ARE IN

The water in the creek crossings on the access roads were only 1/3 of the way up the 40's on my buggy.
Funny thing is the buggy was on my trailer.

Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS rules are up

My current helmet is a motor bike helmet. It fully covers down both sides of my face. With my googles on the only part of my face not covered is my mouth and chin. If Steve isn't happy with this then I will not compete, easy done. I never bought my buggy just for doing comps, I bought it to social ...

Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS rules are up

Full face OR goggles etc is more then enough.
This alone is enough for me to not compete as I am not buying a new helmet for 1 event.
I like doing comps, have done for about 11 years now but I refuse to spend money on 1 off items just to do them.

How long are the stages going to be?
Only things I can see I need to do to mine are lights and somewhere to carry some gear.

Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS (UPDATE)

Still waiting on rig specs.
Bit hard to do an early entery if I dont know if my buggy will comply or not.
I know its more then up to the task with its drivetrain etc but its the little rules like lights etc where it might not pass.

Not interested if I have to change anything on it though.

Re: RUMBLE ON THE ROCKS

I have a screen shot from my iPhone where I asked Brooksy if he'd suck c0ck for $5, he replied with and I quote "fark oath".
So offering him $100 for a bj is just ripping yourself off.
Anyone on my face book will be able to see it under mobile uploads.

Re: Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge Series-Round 1

As for Digs - sometimes the dig doesn't achieve what you thought it would and it would have been better to stop & reverse a few times - this is a judgement call. From what I am hearing, Rear Steer will be more heavily penalised to try to even up the field a bit - sorry Mick & Rhett - it will be ...

Re: Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge Series-Round 1

A few problems with running 2 cars at once on the same track. 1 it means its not the same person scoring the same car for the same track, which means 2 cars could be scored very differently for the same thing. 2 if car one gets hung up in a spot for so long it means car 2 could catch up and have to ...

as for stops, i thought if it was obvious that it was a , stop and rev, for disconnect only, that it was ok.... obviously up to stage managers decision We got so many stops on track 2 it wasnt funny, 85% of them were ONLY for disengaging or engaging front or rear drive for digs. Getting rid of ...

Re: hilux drive shaft center dealy...

A single tail shaft gives the drive a much more direct feel to it, less vibs, less moving parts to fail. The clearance differances between a split shaft and a single shaft is next to none. In my Hilux I have run a single rear shaft for over 10 years now. Never wasted a rear shaft. Have walked the ...

Self Centering rear steer

Whos running it?
Can it be set up so the steering will stay at say 1/3 lock then re center when you want it to?
Or does it just re center as soon as you let the lever go?

Incorrect. I have a celsior engine. They have a front sump, i swapped it for a rear sump off a soarer. As my high steer was not going to fit, i have also cut and reshaped the original lower steel section and pickup to allow clearance for my diff centre. So much quicker and easier to just buy a ...

I used to run the standard Hilux diesel radiator in mine with twin 10 inch fans mounted to the front pushing the air into the radiator.
