Re: 4WD recommendation

High clearance 4x4's dont normally come with large panoramic sunroof. Body twist doesn't do nice things there.
Station wagons would be Nissan or Landcruisers.
Dual Cabs, Ford Ranger, Hilux (later models) etc
Also be aware that panoramic roofs let in a LOT of heat.

Beach driving doesn't normally ...

Coil trim packers are ok. Its where you physically put a spacer between a strut and the body where its questionable.

Spacers on top of strut mounts as trim packer

Need to know legalities of using 5 to 10mm steel spacer plates on top of strut mounts to trim a vehicle.
This will equate to 10 to 20mm approx at wheel.

Some times a strut (Hilux, Ranger, Triton, 200 series etc) needs a trim after kit fitment.
I know large spacers are frowned on but what about 5 to ...

Re: Experience with modifying original Panhard Rod to adjust

As a suspension part I wouldn't cut corners. Weld and OE pipe can crack.
What prices have you had for a pair of adjustables? Ive seen for $360 each Retail but I can do better from my suppliers.

Also when you centre it up some of the slop will go as steering box will be centered again (tighter in ...

If they have a flat back like a wheel stud then probably.
Remove flange 1st though and sit on vice jaws etc so you don't distort flange.

aluminium plates will do that. Constant thrumming and it eventually fatigues. A good run though all the same :)

It is difficult to tell the integrity of most welds by a surface visual. I was involved in inspecting fabricated product for over 15 years. There is a visual expectation and a functional specification.
As stated earlier in this thread some welds that look crap test perfectly ok. Normally a macro ...

Re: Setting up some profender struts

Prob need about 60 to 80psi of Nitrogen in them. You cant measure with a gauge as nearly all the gas will be used taking the reading.
You need a fitting that reads the line pressure as it puts it in and then you close the valve.

If you use a grub screw, use one with a rounded head not a square head. Tension under load on the wrap over it (2nd layer) can be cut under tension by the bolt head.

Look up how much air yours draws on slow wide open throttle, and then what filter is rated to. Minus about 20% for dirt and overzealousness.
Its not about 25psi, its about cubic centimeters of air.

Hot wire the motor to ensure it hasn't seized or shorted out.
Both can make current go very high and burn a lead.
So can a faulty connection where heat builds up at that point and away it goes.

Yes there were 2 Toyota ratio but so close to be ok.

On yours you will get wind up. Driveline will snatch and grab if traction is good, uni, pinions, cv's take the shock not worth the risk.
wheel diff is about 40 rev per kilometre.

BUT its your truck :)

If the shocks are longer for the lift then the bump stops would of been adj to suit?

With the coils the lower ones 'might' fall out on suspension extension. Change the shocks too.
