The D22 is a bit "industrial" on the inside so to speak. Not real luxurious

Hey, I have had my GQ patrol for over 3 years now and my circumstances have changed and i have to get rid of some toys. I dont know much about navaras, well actually i know virtually nothing about them. I have seen the D22 and the D40, are they different year models or just different spec vehicles ...

im starting to think i should invest in an intercooler, do you think a top mount would produce results?

im not talking about for my conversion, just asking. ive got a turbo td42 and its plenty good for me, i was just wondering :p there is no reason you cant use the original computer but, they are more than happy to accept mods. Would sort of be the same situation as the turbo'd RB30 motors, huge power ...

i would of thought an old xr6 turbo motor would be cheap by now, i spose it comes down to available aftermarket parts like bellhousings and engine mounts etc.

i was just wondering if anyone has done or looked into putting the BA/BF falcon turbo motor into a GQ or otherwise. I know the holden v8 and LS1/2 have been done plenty of times but the turbo donk out of the falcon is a ripper motor and cheap to get bulk power out of. Just wondering if its been done ...

They are about 2/3rds the way down the page, may suit what screwy is looking for....
I am slightly interested in this kit too cos it seems very well priced for what you get.

We just got a new GU leaf ute at work (i work at a mine in central qld) and compared to the 75 series cruisers we got its so rough, seems to use the chassis instead of the suspension to soak up the bumps and sends it through the whole vehicle. just wondering if nissan have cured the hand grenading ...

the double pumper will be too much for that engine especially if you want some economy out of it. I new to this whole turbo diesel game, i have recently bought a GQ wagon with the TD42 and safari turbo kit. i was thinking of putting a boost gauge on it for curiosity sakes really, and i was wondering where to "tap" the gauge off. there is the outlet on the intake manifold for the boost ...

all fixed up now, the water pump seal had thrown in the towel.
thought it might have been a welsh plug too but it was just running down the top lip of the sump and dripping off the back.
New water pump and shmicko now.

i have a TD42 and believe the water pump is leaking, just wondering if there are different types of water pumps on these engines.
did they change the pump on different models or is it the same all the way through.

yeah, was leaning toward that direction myself.
any idea on how much it would cost?
Is it just like a water pump that bolts onto the front of the motor type setup or is it something different.

i could only see it dripping off the bottom pulley, i checked the top of the engine but could not see any coolant up there. i honestly didnt think of the hose, the worst situation senario was what i was thinking :roll: I did see it also coming off near the engine/bellhousing after driving at 100kph ...

my td42 has started to leak coolant from around the lower front of the engine. It appears that it only happens when the engine is warmed up, or that it is blairingly obvious because it drips very freely. Any ideas on what it could be (im new into this patrol diesel thing) and what sort of costs ...

My engine mounts are slighty cracked and the mechanic who is doing the roadworthy wants em changed. I had a look and i know that the passenger side one is a commo V6 unit but am i right in thinking that the driver side one is a standard toyota unit. It looks like it is but not 100% sure. i actually should of said that i was talking about 2 cars i could potentially purchase.
One is a 4.2 injected petrol and the other a 4.2 turbo diesel.

i have heard reports to stay well away from the 2.8 turbo motors. cant really remember what the fella told so if someone has some info on the engine, good or bad, it would be great.
