All that Allan Whitaker Said from transport sa was that the 31x10.5x15 inch tyre is the same as a 265/75/R15...which is legal on my 4x4...The engineer who I rang was a 4x4 owner and he said if u can prove that your car is stable and your tyres wont hit the body or any other components while turning ...

Did the Engineer give you any idea as to what the maximum tyre size he would OK was ? If you can get bigger than 31's approved it would be well worth doing up front - even if you have to borrow wheels and tyres. Would be fun to see the look on the Police's face when you point out your running ...

its not legal with the 4 inch lift....tyres are legal ...as long as they dont hit the suspension or body....just need to get speedo checked to make sure its not out by 7%...if it is then need to get it recalibrated...

Well i just contacted an engineer in Adelaide and he said with my 4 inch lift and my tyres all i have to do is pass a stability test and get my speedo recalibrated and he will pass it....as long as its stable at 110km/h passing another vehicle...I found an engineer who is into 4wdriving....

they dont change the law every year...if they did this country would be like the morons in the usa .S.A. goes on the same law as Tasmania...if u were right ...no one with a 4x4 would be allowed over size tyres....and you think your link was right...my 4x4 doesnt look like a car or ute...get it right ...

didnt bloody work...type in tyre and rim guide on google and then find the Alternative wheels and tyres regulations by toyo tyres...it lists every states regulations.....like i said the link u mentioned is for cars only ..not 4x4s...

look at the Replacement/Alternative wheel and tyre regulations by state.. S.A. is that same as tasmania and it says "For offroad or commercial vehicles, the overall diameter of the wheel and tyre combination must be no more than 50mm larger and not more than 26mm smaller than that of any tyre ...

Tyres were outside the guards so a motorcycle cop pulled me over and defected me for track and tyres....when i got my 4x4 inspected....they put another defect on for being 50mm too high...so now ive got to take out the suspension or body lift....

Defected for tyres

I got defected for my tyres being too big (the sidewall height or profile of them). They are 31x10.5x15 inch mud terrain tyres. My tyre placard says H78-15 or 215 SR 15. There doesnt seem to be any sidewall or profile height on the placard so are my tyres legal or not.
