Oh the cam in mine is pretty rough at idle and smooths out around 1200-1300, but like you said it should have enough around 1500?

Could be a soleniod problem coz its weird that it works sometimes and not others? I know what you mean with letting the air escape, the 5way valve ive got releases air when you lock and unlock,

Thanks jes, im not running any soleniods coz i only had the diff to start with,
Ive plumbed into the booster with a line going to a resivior with a one way valve, then goes into the cabin with a 5way valve then 2 lines back to the diff but only comes in sometimes?

Just wondering if a factory vac gq locker will work with an air compressor? As when you blow into the oppisite hose it does the same job"

gq factory locker help

Ive recently fitted a factory locker to my gq, Ive spent hrs mucking around with now but it only engages like 1 out of 5 times?
I havent got any soliniods im just coming from the engine to a vacuum resivior, 5way valve then. 2 hoses back to the diff,

should this work or has anyone done it before ...

Ive mucked around with it alot now with an air tank, but it only engages like 1 out of 5 times? Starting to think its not supplying enough vacuum from the engine?

Thanks Jesse ill try get a small vac tank from a wrecker, I'll try that way first up and then probably get a valve setup eventualy so I don't have to unplug hoses all the time,

Hey guys just brought a factory locker for my Gq all I've got is the complete diff rear diff (no lines, soleniods or air tank) I've read about people by passing all the soleniods and just using a 5 way valve saying that this works better??
Has anyone done this?

not trying to be a know it all but i agree i think it would deffinatley be a waste of time, if your gonna go to the trouble dont bother with anything under 350ci minimum..
my cousins got one in a gq shorty & ive got a vs caprice as a daily driver & they are both very very average on power. & alot ...

I just used like a "C" channel rubber from clark rubber & just touch up around the hole & super glue it on..

Should be fine as they are a very strong box

I have one behind my 7.4L chev with a brass button clutch
and 35" tyres and it still lives after plenty of testing so to speak

A Fuel injected big block v8 will surprise some with
its max power around 1800rpm and can be not much
worse than a tb42 if not better once loaded up for a holiday
at the fuel pump

for eg I have a 454 on LPG and it dose 28lph around town and about the same on the hwy

and most tb42 engines on LPG ...

nah fine, set up mainly for gas & petrol as a back up coz not everywhere has gas,
but even on petrol i run a holley 750dp & my brothers 351 has a holley 650vac havent had any dramas off road :)

351c on gas

Run 302c closed chambers which will get the compression up to just over 11 to 1 which the higher octane (100plus) of LPG will love.

Throw in a mild cam, aftermarked intake and free flowing exhaust and you'll be surprised by the power made on LPG.
