I used a NPC designed with a dodge viper clutch to suit my 4.2TB with turbo and Nitrous, never faulted me .

You cant beat coil overs if you have the extra room for the coil od.
2.5 OD Airshocks are a huge improvement over 2.0 Airshocks but there is still no comparison to coilovers. ( 2.5 od coil overs is what you need, 90 over 110 coils is what we have set some hilux's up with now for tough tracks )

I have not tried Haultech's so i cant comment on those.

My opinion is if it is a choice between aftermarket or cal's i would choose cal's.

Cals are manufactured with a bit thicker bel and smaller balls than OEM so in theory if both NTN and Cals have perfect heat threating than the cals will be ...

If modding your mounts are not a problem then fit low mounts on the diff, make a top shock bar/ mount to fitt around 17 inch travel 2.0 shock like the AMADDAXTREME or the Profender.
We can sell either brand less the coils in "coil over remote res" style for $295 each or with dual rate coils $495 ...

You dont need to go to the extra work, they work fine with standard upper adjustables.
By changing the upper arms you will not gain any more flex, just concentrate on setting up the shock lengths correctly , this is the key to getting maximum usable flex out of the rear of a patrol.

Christian from team Boab boasted how he had never broke a cv in winch challenges until the first drive with the DGR team in a pretty serious rock creek, by the end if it he had broken his first GU CV,Myself in the GQ and cal Cv's had no breakage's ...

I know I won't get any more flex, but won't the 5-link be less restrictive in its movement? It should help the steering if it can be adjusted to correct the caster. It's at 5-degrees positive and the specs are 2-3 degrees positive, so it only has to be changed a small amount.

To answer your question it is easy to weld up a LSD or non LSD centre , there are a shit load of them out there, probably more than some people would think, mainly in the hilux area.

I also reccommend just reshimming the LSD or going for a ARB or Lokka when its within your budget , welded centres ...

You do not have to drop the panhard to gain flex, think about the bushes ? how are they mounted?
look at the problem area first and that is the drag link ends , these will snap with any more articulation than you can push from a standard panhard mount setup.

The panhard does not need to be moved ...

As Shane mentioned they should be longer, most manufacturers always put additional length into the main and wrap, some of the better spring designs they even slightly move the pin, most of the manufacturers are too arrogant to admit this should be done

Any of the big shock companies have online calculators that will give you the correct rate, its easy to work it out once you have a look at the calculators.

For Northside 4x4, this is how i see your build.
Part 1 - think of the engine design ( your doing that now)
part 2 - build engine
part 3 - tune the engine to make the HP and not detonate
part 4 - design truck/ suspension that will put the power down to the ground
part 5 - build a decent driveline ...

Now i am scratching my head, o well i might go and have another jack daniels, a sleep :sleeping: and check back later when we all get back on track with the post.
