Make sure to let us know how it goes - there will be many people interested in your feedback. This is the continuing saga of the search for the "holy grail" of a slower running gear for my Feroza. MM, is the Toyota R151F tranny and TT compatible with the Daihatsu Feroza? I understand they're both ...

Been there...... done that and it does give more travel. As said its a lot of work, and needs to be done properly - wheels falling off due to poor workmanship wouldn't be fun. A down point is that the wheelbase to track ratio becomes worse making stability even more of and issue. Mines around 300mm ...

I've done some difficult trails (long and short) with lifted front diff and welded (actually built up) side gears. The learnings are: 1. CV joint issue is more related to axle rod angle from torsion bar lifting than due to gear welding. Maximum side gear cavities should be weld built up except those ...

I keep looking at a hilux front diff ( already running a lux rear on Feroza PCD ) for a SAS but he Feroza' chassis rails have very little hump making it very challenging not to make the whole thing way too high. Diff to sump clearance is also an issue - i'm lifting my motor and creating a weird ...

Thanks gents. I'm already on 235/75 15s, and have untightened the torsion bar so that the lower arm axis and the wheel axis are now same height (stock specs says lower arm axis should be 30-50mm lower so I'm higher still by at least 30mm but the ride has improved greatly with no scrubbing against ...

3/ Spacing the diff down, just reduces ground clearance so IMO its counterproductive. Your fitting bigger tires to improve ground clearance ( and hurting gearing.... ) and then loosing it again. Also Feroza diffs don't like dragging on the ground - something I've learn't first hand :x Thanks MM ...

Just a related question: If I put a bigger tires, would an increase of 2" in diameter push the axle up ward, say by 1", therefore making it more horizontal and less strained? No, it won't change your suspension geometry by fitting bigger tyres. If you want more downtravel, you have to space the ...

Re: Anyone interested in a Detroit Locker for your Rocky, Sc

Hey guys anyone interested in a rare Detroit Locker for your Rocky or older Daihatsu? I've one for sale and willing to let go for a reasonable price. Reason why i'm selling it as i've decided to upgrade to either Volvo C303 or Hilux axles as i've come to a point that the final drive ratios on the ...

You can only reduce the LOW gearing on the transfer case because you dont have any space to reduce the gearing for the HIGH gearing. This month we searched a lot of mechanics and sayed that only the low gearing of the Feroza transfer can be done. Now we are looking for samurai transfer or Hilux ...

The front differential has now been tested through major off-road trails (mostly old and abandoned logging roads) the traction is awesome and quite effective with no major adjustment in handling on loose surface. The system of "filling-up" of the side gears is definitely superior to the direct ...
