Surely there must be some one in that area to have a look for
bingrames, as his signature says he's in SA, A long trip for him to make if it's not all kosher? Check for rust or overheated engine etc.

What you see is only the visible rust, the back floor in the cargo area should be checked to see if it is rusted, I seen pommy mags where there was severe rust behind the front mudguards where the fire wall is. only ...

It sounds like the front crankshaft seal is U/S.
Easy fix, pull the pulley off, pull the rubber seal and insert a new one, this can be done with engine in car. Seal is the one in the timing case where the crankshaft comes through.

Also try pressing down on the inertia switch button located behind the washer bottle in the engine bay. It might have tripped, this cuts of the fuel to stop it starting.
Also Is there spark at the plugs when you crank the engine?

Just thought I'd pass on this. My 5am Maf was stuffed, and I've been down the Reco way a couple of times but at $550 a pop and a couple of back fires in the LPG ruining them it gets expensive. You could try and by pass the switch at the console and see if they work. If this switch is dicky as it is to prevent rear window operation.
It would be unusual for both rear motors to play up.
or borrow a working Window ECU and see if it fixes the problem
