Thanks for the advice guys, I plan on doing the cleaning out this weekend, I am noticing now that it is drying out a bit here in brisbane, the speedo is working more often than not. Anyways if I think of it will let you know what happens

Not a cable mate, black thing with wires, so where to here from here? or is the whole panel gotta be replaced just because the speedo is fucked? or is the panel easy enough to pull out and check over or lubricate?

Also, where abouts on the net would I find the wiring digrams for the truck?

Everything on my instrument panel works odo the whole box and dice, but every now and then the speedo won't work, or will work intermittently, odo never stops just speedo, it shits me is all, does anyone know what the problem is? are the speedo's in the '92 Hilux electronically controled? Do you play your stereo loud? is there speakers in the dash area? If so this may well be what the problems are, knock the bass down a bit
