Clanky wrote:Does your pump have one of those fine gauze filter inserts under the fuel inlet banjo bolt on the injector pump?
These are easy to clean with solvent and a bit of compressed air and can cause starvation.
I'll have a look

Both seals looked fine and the primer pump is ok.

Was a Ryco 252. I have replaced it with a Toyota one that I had spare this time.

I'm not sure whether there is a screen in the tank pickup or not, I really should have checked when I replaced the tank level sender unit 6 months ago as I have draws in and have to dismantle the lot to get to it all.
I'm pretty sure I pulled the inlet hose off at the filter and blew back to the ...

Hi there
I have a BJ73 with a 1HDT in it, and last Thursday it started to die under power. Would idle & rev in neutral fine but under load would starve for fuel. I bypassed the fuel filter, car then ran fine, got home and changed the filter, and the car continues to run well.
I had previously had ...

I'm running a DTS top mount on a 1HDT in the middy, was put on by the previous owner. It uses a Nissan bonnet scoop however the air was not going properly thru the cooler as there were gaps all around. I made up a rubber shroud to stop that and seems to be working better.

Hello there,
I have a MWB landcruiser running 15 x 7 rims and 33" X 10.5 tyres on it that sit square along the guards. If I went to a 12.5 would I by law in QLD require some fender extensions ?
Cheers
Paul
Edit: Correct rim size is 15"

Well I had it on the dyno this morning and it runs lean up top, hence the low EGT. Suspect boost advance in the pump. So I'll get a new / reco pump when I get back again. I also have to block off the the area around the intercooler as the air is passing thru an inch gap at the back and around the ...

Actually measured it on the way home 2km long. I used it when I was finetuning my STi as well. The incline is good to load up turbos.
I bought a Haynes manual today. It doesn't mention that adjustment screw at all only the max rpm, idle and a/c idle :? It does however talk about rotating the pump ...

Well I had a few goes at trying to adjust it. From a benchmark peak EGT 325 on the first run I only managed to get it to 425 max before I couldn't reduce the idle down any further and even that was around 800-900 rpm. This was wound CW 3/4 from the initial setting. Put it back a bit so at least the ...

edit - could it be possible that it is now running too rich with the new injectors and would the EGT's lower because of that. Excuse my ignorance of diesels but I'm just trying to learn.

The pyro is into the exhaust manifold.
After having the injectors changed yesterday my exhaust pipe has a lot more soot in it. Boost has not been touched. I'll try 1/8th turn increments CW then and see what happens. Thanks for your help mate :)

Hi there
My recently purchased vehicle only gets up to 400degC EGT on a long 3rd gear hill. After doing a search on here I am still a bit confused as to turn the adjustment screw which way. I read conflicting theories on running leaner v' more fuel. So should I be adjusting clockwise for more fuel ...

I have a 4 point in my WRXSTi that I use on the track but would get a 5 point at least., which I might do shortly. I find it will want to ride up and the 5th bottom belt would stop that.

Hi there
I'll be looking at upgrading the seats in my Middy when I get home and was after peoples thoughts on what they have. My mate that I bought it off said the next investment he would have made would have been some Recaro's. For the record I'm 5'10" @ 80kg with my wife around the 50kg mark ...
