Time to go, thanks all
Well it has come time to part with the Feroza. It was not without a fight though. Moving overseas for work and wife won't let me pay for storage for the beast til we return. Have a look in the for sale section and tell all your friends what a great car they are :) so I can sell it quick. Oh and ...

Firstly, welcome to the dark side of daihatsu ownership Doug. Apologies if you already know or worked it out, but the first switch is for locking/unlocking the rear door. Apart from the usual multimeter test o see if current is reaching the rear door lock mechanism, no real advice to give about what ...

Again thanks for the advice MM. Strangely enough found that the lock nuts themselves were easy than I first thought to remove......with the help of a homemade service tool aka a bit of pipe persuaded into shape with a rather large hammer......and luckily the spring gauge was picked up during the ...

Appreciate the reply. But my bad, I should have specified it is the main axel locking nut. i.e. the one that stops you removing the brake rotor as the hub is still attached that I am referring to. I too thought about just cold chiseling it off if it was an issue, but then would still need the right ...

front brake pad guides
Any one know if and where you can source front brake pad
guides for the feroza.....you know the little pieces of metal installed
at each end of the pad that stop it from moving.....
mine are RS which causes a lot of unwelcome clunking
when braking.

valve clearances
Just wondering if anyone can give advice on adjusting the valve clearances. I have done this before on other vehicles and have the feroza bible handy to tell me the ranges of adjustment when hot and cold.....my question's are: (1) does this engine prefer erring on the tighter or looser side for the ...

I used some 3 inch pipe, some rubber elbows, an air filter cannister from an old patrol with a pod filter inside, and it goes alright for the moment. Not the ultimate design, but I think looks and functions as it should. Highly recommend the patrol cannister, needs to be hacked up a little but the ...

Basically seized and let go completely. The only thing that remained was the inner and outer grooved rings and the ball bearings.... Lucky I wasn't driving, I was actually letting the car idle with the bonnet up to find where the week old "whining" sound was coming from. I could hear the bearing ...

power steering idle pulley bearing
With regards to the title, the bearing in the pulley has crapped out, was wondering if the bearing in the centre is replacable or if a new pulley is on the cards. I ask as I am wanting to know if the reason the bearing won't come out is due to the fact that it doesn't come out or that it needs ...

Just curious, can anyone answer for me why is it when I am full engine braking, like going down a mountain range in say third gear at 60 clicks not using brakes, just engine to keep speed down, why would my engine temp drop to almost lowest point on the dial? PS It is a 1994 widetrack Fez ...

Anyone know of a good reasonably priced auto electricians/installers in Brisbane for a car alarm into the feroza? Have already got the hardware just need an installation. G'day all, am about to do a bodylift on the Feroza and wish to know does anybody have any photos or advice on replacement brackets for the bullbar and rear bumper once a two inch lift is done. Any recommendations, i.e. type of material, etc. much appreciated.
Cheers.

winch advice
G'day all, am wondering about the size of winch recommended for a Feroza? Going by all the info I can find on here I am thinking about pulling power of about 2 times the weight of what I would need to pull. The main problem is working out how much I would need to pull :? I mean I am mainly ...

The pipe was basically brand spankers as the "abandoned shed" was more like a weekend cabin. The pipe was inside along with a lot of other material probably meant for the restoration of the place. No fear to those who think me a thieving mongrel, my mate in his lifted disco was nice enough to drive ...

True about the dissy, but in defence of the mighty roza, and the undeniable physics of air pressure against water ingress under the bonnet, all turned out ok. The hottest part of the engine worked out to be a great place for the pod filter as all moisture was basically burnt off before it got there ...

Now here's how not to make an intake, but I must explain, this was done out of necessity as I went camping after quite a lot of rain, to an area called the 14 river crossings no less....one would have thought that may have given me an idea to the likelihood of deep water :D but alas, set up camp ...
