Now??

If you don't know the service history, there is no time like the present.

Otherwise, use the Toyota service manual as a good guide.

Different ratios in first and second, maybe reverse too.
However they are all constructed the same and will all benefit from VMX-M

For what it is worth, I have read that there are a number of different CT26 turbochargers. My understanding is they are the same housing but different turbines. I believe a number of petrol rice burner/boy racer cars have the CT26 standard from Toyota eg MR2 etc. I will let others either confirm or ...

The changeover solenoids are located on the body just behind the cross member which is basically above the rear axle, and off centre to the left. There are two solenoids - one for forward fuel and the other for return. Climb under there and feel for action on both solenoids as someone else activates ...

All 80 series diesels have a flexy pipe and I would imagine they are "real" cars.

[quote="80's_delirious
just looked at this. the VMX-M is actually 75w85[/quote]

The M part of the VMX-M is widely touted as being a special formulation made up for a problem Mitsubishi had with their boxes. Lucky thing is that it is also great on 80 series boxes.

The 1600rpm figure for the boost to start sounds quite typical, however on my 1HD-T with Beaudesert 3"mandrel bent exhaust and basic boost controller, I get full boost at around the 2000rpm mark. I rarely have to extend the revs past 3000.

Mate, you were quick - it was only there for a moment - I pulled it as the pics didn't work, It was Scott at Platypus Creek Paint & Panel at Enogerra and cost was just under $2K. There was quite a story, but without the pics was rather patchy and useless. I have sent an email to Greg G (HDJ105) for ...
