Re: Tough Dog Toperi Challenge 23rd/24th Nov

In need of a 2nd 4wd to team up with me. GU ute on 40s. Im there to drive hard and smart and would prefer the same mindset from the 2nd driver. Im not there to crawl and spend 10 minutes on a stage. The red GU has done well in the past toperi events. Our team has already been accepted as 1st entry ...

Yup, make it appealing to the majority & you won't have a problem getting numbers, another comp close to home would be great.

Congratulations to Shellharbour 4x4 club! Good to see a local taking the throne. This was our second comp, we placed 19th which I am very happy with. We also won a Stage Managers Award which was an awesome surprise, wish we had stayed for presentation but the dust was being kicked up something ...

Mental 4x4 done Em's cage, looked good but photo's in her members thread aren't working Not really. We used his workshop, I designed the cage & bent it up, Jeremy did a fair chunk of the work, but Darren's assistance was still appreciated. Darren does great work, he built my sliders, they are ...

Re: Need ideas for a new tray

Too lazy to search! Come on, everyone has to become aquainted with the sporadic search function at some stage. You also haven't given any indication of what kind of tray you're looking for, is it for work, offroad, camping? Do you want alloy or steel, aftermarket bolt on or custom, tube or box ...

Re: Flow-coating Fibreglass

Oh btw, I used approximately 2.5 litres of flow coat, I really needed another 500ml- 1 Ltr more to cover it all perfectly. Mixed at a ratio of 2% mekp to flow coat. And a bucket load of acetone to clean up & prep. Cheapest place I found to buy it with the catalyst was ebay & that's including postage.

Re: Flow-coating Fibreglass

Well I started out strong the outside of the bath went well getting it rollered on. I was told to brush or sponge roller the inside by a fibreglass professional, all good in theory, I thought I'd be smarter and buy one of those sponge brushes, like what you use in the corners but this was a big flat ...

Cruza, I wrote off the other van in an accident so I have another, it's currently getting a half cast of fibreglass with proper drainage, sealed all around and then up to the roof I will fish oil or something and use the skin reccomended to protect it some more, plus extractor vent. Re: Flow-coating Fibreglass

Not sure if the same thing will work for what you are doing, but for automotive paints you can get an additive to help paints deal with silicone residue, it stops the paint from getting "fish eyes" or small round holes in the paint where silicone residue breaks the surface tension. Lots of polishes ...

Re: Flow-coating Fibreglass

Bath has been sanded, acetoned and the outside has had the flowcoat rollered on. It came up good except for some areas where there was residual silastic I thought had been all removed. Damn that crap is impossible to remove!! Though I did manage to fix it after all. The consistency of the flowcoat ...
