Looking to see who has run a narrow tyre on a zuk with a heavy 8 ply load rating.

I want a skinny tyre and nothing much over 30". Currently looking at some 215/85/16 tyre on ebay. But worried with a smaller tyre and the higher load rating the tyre wony bag at all. With searching all the info I can ...

basketcase - have you impacted anything with yours yet? looks like it'd rip right through the 3mm chassis rail... better to put crush tube in the rail and bolt all the way through it...

Was thinking about crush tubes, but got to find a bolt or nut that will sit inside that bit below the body ...

Here is a pic of mine built by 80LSY. Brackets were made with 8mm plate that were cut to fit around the tube xmember. New lights are still to be mounted, don't like the originals just zip tied there and some bracing around recovery mounts.

Before going to nuts with a diff conversion consider chromo cv's and axles. If your not going bigger that 33/34 or insanly wide ...

I have broken 2 cvs last weeknd and was wondering about putting mq diff under my widetrack zook to gain some strength and more stability.The plan is to keep it sprung under im just wondering if many people have done it and what is required or is it just a waste of time

I would go for TSL. Awsome alround tyre, kick ass on rocks, handle well in the mud and everything else you can chuck at it. Wish I could afford a set for the zuk.

Why Diff ratio changes and no reduction gearing??

In a sierra I can get close to the same low ratio with reasonable reduction gearing as I can with extremely low diff ratios.

Calmini axles seem to be a cheap go between stock and full blown chromo ones. Check them out if you are on a tight budget. But with a worked 2 litre and welded diff on 33's I'd be going the ducks nuts of axles.

But then you still need to upgrade the cv's. Cheapest way is birfield cups and they ...

I'd check out a WT chassis and copy that setup if I were you.
I'm not 100% but I think WT spring spacing is same as Lux.
IF [/color] that is correct you might be better off swapping to a WT chassis.

Sierra front 1L, 1.3L and 3 door Vitara brakes are all the same and no benefit to swapping between these. The only (bolt on) upgrade is the Vitara 5 door with the ventilated discs and slightly larger caliper. I had exactly this on my 1L (so yes they do fit) before going to widetrack 1.3L diffs and ...

Test drove a 1L hardtop with a 1.6 MPFI today and the seller claimed he put Vitara brakes on the front as well, but it has issues pulling up?

Do vitara brakes fit 1L diffs?

Did he stuff the install or does it need a booster?

And is a remote booster my only option with the 1.6 manifold hard up ...

I want to replace the body on my 92 Hard Top. Have been looking for a few weeks now and descent hard tops are few and far between. But soft tops seem be everywhere in half descent condition.

Does any one in QLD know what the issues would be with the DOT?
