What's wrong with your old motor that it needs a rebuild. If people know it will help give an idea on a rebuild cost cause a motor that has spun a main bearing and has been driven long enough to damage the crank is obviously going to cost more than a motor that is just tired. You may also find that ...

I'll put another vote in for using Locktup. They have been great to deal with and I have never had a problem with any of my orders. The other thing that I think is worth remembering is that if you have any reason to have an item replaced under warenty you would be dealing with a company that is in ...

What bits are they missing? There is not much too them bar the springs, a plate and the hub gear. If the springs are still there they may have just put them back incorrectly which I have seen before.

If you decide to put aftermarket CV's and hub gears down the track it will be a lot easier to get gears to suit the Assin hubs.

No expert on this so this is just a personal opinion but I would have thought that a turbo that is designed for a 4.2 would be a bit to laggy on a 2 liter.

I'd change it. It's not a hard job just a bit dirty an CV's are not that expensive. It sucks breaking a CV on the first obstacle of the day, even more so if you know it's worn and didn't change it.

If it is oil smoke an engine flush will not fix it. It is not a bad thing to do but don't do it thinking it will remedy your problem. How much oil does it burn over 5000km ? If bugger all it's probably just a bit of blow by and and unburnt fuel. If you haven't had the injectors serviced before and ...

You will find this is because most thermos don't have a properly designed shroud.

A larger exhaust behind stock headers won't slow down the gas flow out of the exhaust port. It may also not increase the flow either. I think a lot of the power people think they have gained by their "seat of the pants" test of their cat back system on a N/A engine when it is just an illusion ...

On an N/A engine you will find it will use more fuel and have less power and torque. On a turbo motor, post turbo, less back pressure is better. I have to disagree here in the first part of the answer..... no back pressure is good .. however having said that, I doubt you could have an exhaust ...

My understanding is that you are after the least amount of back pressure possible while still having a high enough velocity to create scavenging in the desired rev range. That is why some people feel they have lost torque with a really big system. It is not designed to be it's most efficient at low ...
