Re: Suzuki Sierra lift kit options COILYS

If that becomes a big drama id rather a smaller lift.. Something to suit 31's n give good flex.. I was looking at a rocky-road samurai/sierra 6" coil kit, looks pretty legit.. see what dobbson can do first though, i'll be calling them today about it That kit is not designed for a coily sierra. It ...

hilux rear axle bearing cap

Probably a stupid question but anyway,
Does the rear axle bearing cap on a hilux use studs or bolts to fix it in position.
If they are studs, does anyone have the part number?

Re: lux diff centre Qs

sorry i forgot to mention im using the bundy centres in hilux housings, with high steer. You can't run the high pinion centre in the rear, the gears are reverse cut and are not very strong like that. im not going to run the HP in the rear. I would be swapping the rear locker into the front centre ...

lux diff centre Qs

I have a pair of air locked bundera diff centres, and i want to run dirty 30s in the front diff. The front centre is a high pinion, the rear is a low pinion. I was thinking of using the rear centre in the front, and getting a spool for the rear. Would there be any disadvantage with a low pinion ...

Re: buying a sierra

WTs have the metal flares, and the spring mounts are out-boarded from the chassis a little.
NTs have a rubber flare and the spring mounts are inline with the chassis rails

Re: buying a sierra

If the car is going to be a daily driver, and be used in the bush occasionally don't go crazy with mods. When you do get one drive it stock for awhile. See where you can go, then mod it to get you further. Coilys are more comfortable as a dd. The only difference between them and the leafys is you ...

Re: running 33s

if you want 33's and a daily driver you will need diff gears or you will chew thru clutches. x-fer gears will not change your high range gearing . i have got 34's (used to have 33's) and 6.5 x-fer and a 1.6 injected and it is a POS when in high range. as for clearance i have got spoa so i cant help ...

Re: THE "silly" question thread

Hmm, sort of, but if you think that cutting a chassis in 1/2 and welding a new bit on is less of a problem than moving a couple of brackets, I'm concerned. The NT and WT chassis are basically the same, however, the WT chassis has more bracing around the front body mount/spring hanger area, so ...

Re: THE "silly" question thread

Is there any difference in chassis width between a nt and wt? I need to convert the front of my nt ute chassis to wt to fit my lux front diff. I had the idea of cutting of the front section of a wt chassis and sticking it on my nt ute chassis. I do have a sky conversion kit to move the spring perchs ...

Nitro Ring & Pinions

i need to replace the ring and pinion gears for my hilux / bundy diffs which are going under a sierra, they are currently a 4.33 ratio. I have seen the 5.29.1 gears on locktup http://locktup4x4.com.au/hilux-solid-front-78/differential-103/nitro-gear-611.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return ...

there are some calculators that can tell you what the final crawl will be
just enter in your tyre size, diff and transfer ratios here.

http://www.offroaders.com/info/tech-cor ... CrawlRatio

if it is just a trailer car may as well go the 5.29 centers

you could cut your guards or fit coil spacers for a little extra clearance.

i have also heard of a couple people making a strut extension and then getting custom springs and longer shocks to suit

no point as you are in QLD and it wont be legal you sayyou don't have a lotof money to do it yet you'll need to do custom suspension to get it to work as the diffs aren't the reason you'll be able to run 33s. The coily has a crap suspension design that is limited in wheel travel and lift it can ...
