hi The 2H tacho get the signal from bellhousing sender i think
so a 12ht should be simlar

where was the circuit board cracked? from what you said about hitting it you have a solder joint come loose so look for any sort of inperfetion in the solder joins mine was a minor crack on solder joint simmlar to this on this link this isnt of the tacho it was just to show what to look for http ...

hi Nat84

I have had this problem before it turned out to be a
loose connection in the circuit board on the back of the tacho
after great inspection of the board i found a hairline crack in a solder
joint so a bit of work with sordering iron and it hasen't missed a beat

i hope this helps
