Re: td42 fuel pump 14mm plunger

with that sort of fuel load you would need 28psi and up to keep egt's under control and a good intercooler at a bare minimum

Re: 12mm head IP timing.

generally a lot less as the cam plate is a lot more aggressive talk to the pump builder and see what they recommend mine is .64 and as all these pumps are all built different depending on who builds them also injector cracking pressure plays a part in the base timming setting

Re: GU 4.2 Air Box Lid

definitely if you are finding the 4.2 lid is a restriction it wasnt a straight swap for me as the pipe is a slightly different angle and size and i had to trim a plastic bit off the box to fit but still well worth it for me

Re: What turbo to run on my TD42

you could try a mitsubishi tdo5 if you want to stay with the t3 flange or bolt on a t28 adapter and fit a roller bearing garrett turbo it depends on who you talk to and your budget oh and the sort of power you want and where in the rev range you want it

Re: GU injector pump question

the factory turbo(non intercooled) td42 pumps only have one wire going to the pump for the fuel cutoff solenoid and fit onto a gq easily but you will need to fit the accelerator cable bracket from the gq and change the plug on the fuel solenoid which only requires undoing the 8mm nut on top of it ...

if its a 10mm non turbo pump it will struggle to make 100kw at the wheels but with a properly modded pump on the same set up 160kw isnt out of the question

i think the only way you can get a genuine garret t28 .64 housing with a t3 flange is if you get an exhaust housing off of a hks gt2540 from an rb20

Re: Legalities of a 253 in a Hilux

from what i understand a 253 in a hilux is just an emission test(idle emisions test so no modified cams allowed) and roadworthy in sa and the evaporotive emisions connected (polution gear) so standard carby so if you use a blue 253 a rochester is fine on an old lux pree 89 and post 89 lpg or ...

it all depends on
1 the power you want
2 where you want to make it in what rev range
3 what pump mods you have
4 intercooler
if you run a 10mm pump (gq pump) you wont get lots of power as the pump is too small and a gt30 probably wont make much boost for this reason
