Re: 4.2 Injector pump for Big HP
You can have yourself a a stroker kit with pistons, rods, knife edge crank out of all the good stuff for around $3000 US. YYou can also get 1.8 ratio rockers for massive lift. They will mod the pistons to suit the extra lift. can als buy titanium valves. I believe the guy designing all this is also ...

Re: 4.2 Injector pump for Big HP
Im not saying not to run big boost, you are missing the simple point I have been trying to make. Regardless of the boost, the cooler you can get the intake temp the denser the charge air is, regardless of weather it is 20psi or 100psi so im unsure as to why the point it being argued? Boost doesnt ...

Bottom end is not going to be your problem with 45 psi. heat will. A td42ti bottom end with do just fine. We ran this boost for a 4 day event (Outback challenge stye) and on it for 30-40min at a time. Sustained egts for this time of 850-900c. We pulled the motor down after the comp to check it and ...

Re: 4.2 Injector pump for Big HP
If you want a real 350+ rwhp then you're talking 300kw crank. To get that it's 150cc/1000 shots burnt clean and over 45 psi boost at 4000rpm. United fuel injection for pump. You need to get the right turbo with the pump. Small amount of smoke on take off and then clean all the way through to ...

I'll take a photo with the next performance pump we do while on the bench , 140mm3 /1000 shots with 12sd12's iso 7440 at 1500 pump rpm will be lucky to give you 260 rwhp 100 was the ramp rate If I get time on the weekend I'll do a few different ramps and let u know Only difference between the ramp ...

Re: 4.2 Injector pump for Big HP
I dont believe that a td42 modified or not will ever be able to burn 190cc's. This is from experience too. This motor will not last the first day in a cliffhanger IMO. It may be possible with a td42 stroker kit, 1:8 ratio rockers, new pistons(to allow for valve lift), custom head with wild pre comps ...

Re: td42 best turbo
I believe Matt McCiness(Laminova) has done this. They are getting a pressure and temperature variance across all cyclinders of less than 1psi/1 deg C. I run a custom 6 core that he built me. well a quick update of where i am at with mine....No dyno graphs sorry. Dieselex should be able to give some fairly accurate data. it starts to boost at 1400, approx 30psi at 2000, 42psi not long after and will hold boost till 4500 (this is where we have the fuel ramping down) revs to 5300 with no ...

2860 are junk! for that matter all of the universal garret turbos are rubbish when it comes to td42. Maybe you need to think outside the square and get away from the whole "garret" thing. One thing is for sure a 2860 is never going to last on a td42................................Reason being ...

Matt at United fuel injection sell replacement lids for the TD42t air box. They have adapted a very bling stainless steel high polished mod that gves you 3.5 inch. They are $250. Seems to sell heaps of them. I believe he has done back to back testing with a definite change in results.

Re: td42 best turbo
cross country is the way to go air to air.
Laminova is the way to go water to air.
If its blowing smoke i would assume that your egts would be higher than 500 if load is sustained

Re: td42 best turbo
IMO stay away from roller bearing. they are over rated and dont last. The problem is EVERYBODY always gets tempted to run more boost than what the turbo is originally intended to do. My 2860RS lasted just over a year and it was stuffed (23psi max). It would surge constantly. stick with mitusbishi ...
