Topic: WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD???

White smoke can be brake fluid.... It comes from the master cylinder leaking into the booster, then the booster sucking it into the manfold.

It might be a coincedence that its when its cold, as it has also sat for a while and therefore may have built up?

Just a thought.

Re: Nylon as driveshaft spacer

When I was in the local bearing shop the other day I was looking at their nylon rods and an idea sprung to my head. Will the nylon be strong enough to use as a driveshaft spacer? I've made up a driveshaft spacer for the front end out aluminium but it was a pain because the only stock material I can ...

You could use a rubber connector, like Mercedes use rather than universal joints. This would give you the small connector that would also minimise vibrations....

For the fuel issue, pull the fuel line off the carby, and put it in a glass jar. Get a mate to crank the engine over for you and see if fuel is comming out freely. Also check the filter.

Have you got a vac guague? Check what the manafold vac is to determine if you have an air leak somewhere in the system (from behind the inlet valves to the back of the carb throats) making it run leaner.

I'd check that first.

Have you tried resisted leads and resisted plugs?

Instead of of running BP5ES's try BPR5ES or BPZ5ES

Theese are both resited plugs and may help.
