you cant get diff gears for the vitara, calmini made a 5.8 set ages ago but have stopped.

im having the same problem with my gearing, once you get ur gears it will be to slow. so u will have to us high and just drop your pressures and keep ur revs up.

yea mate they can be to tight. should have a little play but not slip. if its to tight it can damage alternator bearings and tensioners etc. ok thanks, how much should i be able to twist the belt? is 1/2 to 3/4 of twist to loose. thanks normally measured by how far you can deflect/bend the long ...

i have just replaced the water pump on my 96 vitara with the G16b and to do this i had to removed all the timing gear, fan, shroud and all belts. So the new pump is on and got the timing belt back on, it was a bit of stuggle but got it on. As the timing belt and tensioner was on, nothing else ...

vitara 1.6 efi with 235/75/15 (29") i get around 350ks (not adjusted for tyres) to a tank but i havnt let it go empty, i always refill just less than a 1/4 of a tank. hey mate
i did mine flat black last week end, spend most of saturday sanding with wet and dry(250 grit, i think) and spent all day Sunday painting with cans of white night ($7 per can). put 2 coats on the back and 6 on the front, with like 1hr in between coats.

came out awesome.

yeah im on about 3500 at 100 on the clock which is around 110kpm.
yeah i was like that as well when i got my vitara as it was my first. but then a few people said that it was normal rpm.

yeah i am happy, no 235 (29") is not the standard size but about 10% bigger, the car had these tires on it so i dont know the standard size but i think it is around 26-27". this car is a 1996 manual and has 187000k's G16B-EFI Power 71kW @ 5600rpm Torque 133Nm @ 4000rpm G16A- carbi Power 55kW ...

hi mate,
i got 1.6 efi vitara but it has 235,75 r15's
at 92kph on the speedo which is about 100kph it is about 2900rpm,

but with these tires the speedo is out by about 10% so 90 on the speedo is 100 and 100 on speedo is 110 ect.
does this make sense.
