SASS, I would be concerned about the load on your running gear using a 'lux with high torque for towing. Having said that, a turbo 4 would out-perform the six cylinder anyway. Have a look at the torque of a Prado diesel for example: 343 NM compared to a daggy 278 NM out of the 1HZ 4.2 six. (from ...

Clutch sizes B - 13BT 4 cyl diesels

Hi,

does anyone know if the 13BT clutch will fit a standard B diesel?

I've just turboed my B and now the clutch slips (as they do! :bad-words: )

Does anyone recommend another alternative. What about RPM clutches, are they strong?

New turbo in diesel engine - tuning

Hi

I have just fitted a turbo system to a 3litre toyota B engine (1980 model).

Can anyone one tell me the recommended timing position for the injector pump if I want to run 12 psi boost?

thanks

Looks like not too many responses eddie Im in the procress of converting my BJ40 to airbag suspension. I was going for coil, but decided it would be far more versatile for ride height and load adjustment to go air bag. I have put the hardpan rod in the rear end already which has improved the ride ...

40 series front door rattles

OK, now for the most challenging question of all time:

How do I reduce the rattle of the driver and passenger door latch against the strikiing pin. Unlike other vehicles, there is no extra support to hold the door; just the latch. And with a bit of wear, and a bumby road, rattle, rattle...

Dumdunce, no, this came with drum brakes and the B (3 litre) motor. I think it was manufactured before the changeover in that year. Has the bullet proof 4 speed box. Don't hear buch about the B motor, but I think its basically a 3B with smaller bore?? Has sleeves etc which makes rebuilding quite ...

Thanks for that dumndunce.

The rear is a bit whiney when warm, and I have the spare front diff from the changeover, so I think I'll look at replacing it shortly

Very good to know there are people out there like yourself who know these things inside out.

thanks again

40 series mods

Hi all, Im new to this forum and would really appreciate some help with questions: Is the 60 series power steering a better solution in a 40 series than the original power steering? Is this a popular thing to do? What if any are the advantages? If anyone has fitted coils or airbags, does any part of ...
