Disconnect the actuator rod from the wastegate.
exhaust will push the wastegate open and it wont make boost. much.

No harm taking the hose off, but it will be very gutless. It'll run lean and cold.

Not having a crack at you for running one, but at the industry for implying a return to centre damper is better than a normal damper. You have been misled as are thousands of people. The castor etc should encourage your steering to return to centre, not a spring secured with a couple of bolts. A ...

Yes, Yes, No apart from a sudden loss of power feeling if you overdo the low-pressure setting and perhaps if you rely on it you may still cook the engine in the time it takes to register the high EGT if you hit it repeatedly, no, no there is no flow it's just pressure applying force to a diaphragm ...

Save yourself $1000 to spend on something that will increase performance. It has issues, stock manifold with a box welded on will perform better.

the 9 inch have an odd shaped gear tooth profile, they dont take kindly to being run backwards if you need a high pinion, but they do sell reverse cut gearsets. The 9 inch tooth shape is more like a saw blade, where the nissan tooth shape is like the roofs of a row of houses. A nissan front diff 3rd ...

Re: Ford v8 air filter for turbo diesel.
cfm = 2.5 x HP for petrol which will be running at AFRs of about 12:1
a diesel will be running about 20:1 AFRs.
you should run about 800 to 1000 CFM "rated" filter.
more in dusty conditions.
Maybe two of those ford filters in parallel?

Detroits are still available for a patrol, Harrop are eaton dealers. Eaton bought the "detroit locker" design and name. A harrop dealer's price is close to $1300 for one. so buying two to build a bitsa if you are getting trade prices is in the vicinity of $2600 probably cheaper to do something else ...

It's fine if you buy the right one there are a couple of different types. You need a GL-4 oil in a patrol box, not a GL-5. AFAIK its the sulphur compounds in the GL-5 oils which stuff the brass synchros. It takes a while to react as well, so people don't realise its the oil thats buggering their ...

Installing a locker is easier than installing diff gears. Not even td42 flywheels are the same as td42 flywheels.
the GU turbo motors are different.
I doubt very much a tb42 flywheels is even close to a td42 one. But I havent played with TB42s.

Seen plenty of comp vehicles hopping up and down on four 37 inch wheels and genuine 1000Nm engines without breaking them. As long as you don't abuse it I don't think 700Nm and a pair of 35s is going to bother it. Every broken input shaft I've seen in offroading is the driver getting a bit carried ...

Patrol box. There are about 5 different gearsets for them. Good for 1000Nm but with massive traction and hopping wheels you might hurt 2nd. If you want a really tough one Albins do a nice close ratio gearset for them (same as a TB48) but the gears cost about 9 grand. there are things you can do to ...
