Yeh you can buy a BCM simulator from a few places,like V6 Conversions in Moree NSW and marks 4wd adaptors, They are pretty expensive to buy, i have one in mine it cost $300,

Gday mate just a thought,it is really common for these motors to strip the timing gear off the crank,pull the distributor cap off and check if its spinning when cranking i know sounds like a long shot,but has happened quite a few times at our w/shop. goodluck

hey

the electric brake controller will not handle it, it will fry you will need a voltage reducer of atleast in my opinion 15amps.

Are you using a relay to switch the solenoid,if not you may be getting voltage drop through the start circuit. If you can still start it by bridging the start terminal and the b+ stud there is nothing wrong the solenoid,When it plays up check the voltage at the switch terminal and it should be more ...

yeh on the the rear case where the bearing sits,on the outside slide a small allen key in and push the brushes in and use the allen key to hold the brushes then assemble,depending on the brushes they will either have a small hole in the brush itself or you will have to push in as far as it will go ...

VR V6 4runner to F/Inj 5.0ltr ???

Just curious has anybody body had a v6 in there solid axle 4runner or lux
and decided to go a fuel injected 5.0ltr,if so wht mods were required or is it too much trouble for what its worth?? Are the engine mounts,gearbox mounts the same? cheers any help would be good..

Inside the gearbox of the wiper motor there should be some copper tracks,this is the "self park",give it a bit of a clean with some emery paper it might be wearing out.

Worth a try i spose.

Just a question how old is your multimeter,when the battery gets flat sometimes they read voltages higher than what it is.
Just a thought ,i have had this before ,had me scratching my head for a while..

yeh mate,your hilux loom stays relatively the same i.e your headlights,etc etc,When fitting the v6 all your doing is fitting the engine and g/box mangement system and supply it what it needs to run i.e ign,bat,earth etc etc

your truck looks awesome lux 89, i will go trail gear stuff i reckon.
Wil i have any dramas with axle wrap, and in your opinions would i gain much getting a rear ifs lux d/housing and a hub kit for the front for width

He has just told me,they realised it started using more fuel after picking dodgy fuel up,they had cleaned everything out and new filters and put some cleaner additive in.The problems still there.
It has to be injectors i think.

yeh i think ill play with leafs,would i gain much going for a trail gear set up,I thought about going out and getting an IFS rear housing and the trail gear setup with a lockrite,Would this handle the v6 and 37s cheers

yeh lack of power blowing black smoke but not excessively,im going to chop the muffler out maybe that is causing it,it hasnt been changed

Ok cool so is going coils worth the work or should i work with the leafs,your truck looks good boof,the trail gear stuff looks pretty good on their site.
I think i might of stuffed up tho,i cut the body down to the rear wheel arch anticipating the coil conversion ah well..

Yeh great vehicle,for the body lift you will need 10 blocks,steering shaft extension and maybe longer fuel filler hose.

Yeh, i have shortened the rear of the body and i have a supercharged v6 in it, i was actually trying to get a bit more width if i could, i need to get an engineers certificate for all the mods done so far so i thought i may as well go all out put some good suspension under it, i will probably do ...

Rear end decision

Gday i have an 85 model solid axle 4runner,i want more articulation from the rear so i was thinking of converting it to coils,what would be the better option,Take the rear out of a surf,80 or GQ.
Or keep the housings i have and rig something up.
Whats everyones thoughts cheers

yeh i have found the wiring loom to be rubbish.
They are bright and seem to be tough but i have a set of the big ones and after some long driving the light tilts backwards a bit,i have tried tightening and even use a rattle gun and still cant get it to stay there but yeh good light otherwise

Wiring should be fine,the narva ultima 175 are a pretty good light,
For that sort of price range i would go for them
