my research indicated that the Mazda Cap would only work on the Mk 2 & 3 motors.
And that the Angle drive / G13a Dizzy would only work on the Mk 1 as it is the only Mk that uses a vacuum advance dizzy. .

thought is should update this thread. I have finally finished the virtual lift :roll: man what alot of work , especially in the rear, (i hate welding cheese)

you can slot the engine mounts a little to move the engine forward a tad.

BFH on the firewall , but might pay to check how much clearance their is between the firewall and internal heater unit before you start bashing..

Then hope you never need to get the dizzy cap off

i ditched the intake manifold support bracket. my VL mounts fitted in no probs at all should have done it years ago.

Have a look at this thread. 2nd Page, at the top has the wiring diagram for the MK1.

From what i understood the 323 Dizzy Cap would only work on the MK2 and MK3 GTI

You are stuck with an Angle Drive of some type for the MK1 ,Thats what i am using.

323 solution is far from ideal. I could get the dizzy to fit with it, (just) but you would have need to remove the motor or bash the ...

i think it's spot welded - or the equivilent of being spot welded.

if it has come loose, i'm guessing the tank has seen a lot of rattling or has been dented?

I am looking at buying a SJ80 Coily Fuel tank to fit to my SJ413.
I want to Fit an Vitara EFI In tank pump for use with my G13b Gti conversion.

I have found a cheap ish tank here in NZ but apparently the Swirl pot has come loose in the tank and is moving around.

I have not had a look at the tank ...

I have both at home at them moment

GTi Flywheel is thinner and lighter than the G13a Flywheel.
