Have a few instances of flat spots. First time it was the dizzy, replaced the rotor and cap and it was all good. Second time I needed a new coil. Third time it was one of the spark leads, replaced that and haven't had any problems since. As for the auto choke it's a useless item on those carbs. The ...

Just interested after reading this thread. If you aren't running huge tyres and do this gear swap will it help with Highway speed? up to 31 inch tyres 4.6 gears, 31's and up 5.1 gears. So would what would a zook with standard wheel size and 4.6 gears sit on revs wise to cruise at 110kmh on the free...

Steering column switches
Hi all. Some bastard got into my soft top the other night and tried to take her for a joy ride. They failed to get the steering lock unengaged but did manage to rip off all my indicator and lighting stalks. I've got a replacement stalk tree from Suzispares. http://www.suzispares.com/scripts/prodView...

Had a similar problem on mine, I worked out the automatic choke wasn't working properly it wasn't opening fully after warming up and also taking ages to open on starts. The car would idle erratically and flood if I braked hard at lights plus leave a black stain on the garage floor from the exhaust o...

You could get a pretty skinny lockable box behind the back seats. Or maybe a custom one that goes under the front passenger like a slide out tray big enough for a laptop. It's probably the best option. For security I just leave my soft top unlocked with the glove box open. I got sick of junkies slas...

So what you are saying is it was a Dulux rebuild.  Sounds like an input shaft bearing? Didn't accuse them of anything as I wanted it sorted. He was good about it so no need to enflame the situation. I think he will probably be having a word with his reco'd box supplier though. I'm glad ...

Took the car in this morning. Pleasant surprise the guy was really good about it. Apologised profusely and explained that they didn't reco the boxes and got it from an external mob. Didn't muck me about and is getting me a new box to pick up Saturday when I drop the dud one back. But it was the box ...

Yeah I'm really pissed off about it. They are going to have one angry person down there tomorrow. I'll definately be testing the next one out a bit more before I install it. My buddy is going to give me a hand to pull it out on Saturday. It'll be much faster process this time round as I know exactly...

Got it from Tempe Tokyo spares in Sydney. It was looking a bit suss when I got it. The thrust bearing was worn out and one of the locater studs was missing. Looks like they just spray painted a used box and tried to palm it off as a reco. I'm taking it down there tomorrow morning to kick some ass. W...

Thanks guys I'm going to check the thrust bearing out first as it seems to disappear slowly as I push the clutch pedal in. It also doesn't do it in 4th or 5th gear for some reason or on deceleration only on acceleration. Really weird?? I don't want to take the box back without checking all avenues f...

I'd be taking it straight to the mob that reco'd it before it blows up and they find a way to void your warranty. Yeah I think I will. I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience with a reco'd box before I do. It all runs perfectly and feels great it just whines. It doesn't do it w...
